A must go place to eat, if youāre in Dewsbury / Batley!
Great food and selection of drinks: the butterfly chicken steak meal does the job for me (the rice is nicely made); great selection of burgers for adults too; the kids love the chicken filet burgers especially the chips (the sauces complement nicely, with some old school options already on the table); impressive selection of drinks (milkshakes are worth the money and Mexican cola is a nice treat)
Nice seating: make sure to get the booths if youāre with family, more comfortable while you enjoy the food; sometimes difficult to get seating during the busy times but worth the wait once youāre in; be mindful during lunchtime on a hot / sunny day if sat in one / two of the booths (on the top left as you come in), gets a bit hot
Impressive ambience: I like the nice mix of people from different backgrounds / ethnicities, all enjoying their food while being courteous and mindful of those around them; balanced selection of background music too (including nasheeds, which my kids love); you can watch the world go by, gazing out of the window (located on a main road)
Customer service: the mix of people taking your order is nice (the more experienced ones make you and the kids feel welcome, while the younger ones are a little nervous wanting not to get things wrong); dedicated person to make sure the tables are clean and do the extra bits (helpful and polite if you manage to make him / her aware that you have a need)
No prayer room facilities: for those inclined that way, make sure to schedule this in before / after your Frankieās experience (plenty of mosques nearby)
Parking limited: make sure to get a good spot in the ~20 places in the dedicated car park - plenty of options available in the side streets too...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday, I placed an order for my kids lunch an hour ago. I'm quite disappointed as I drove from brighouse to Batley. We used to always get Frankie's before lockdown and then my kids asked me that they wanted to have Frankie's again. So, I asked the cashier what their mildest sauce was, which she then proceeded to recommend me the buffalo sauce as it is their "least" spiciest sauce option. However, when I got home and gave them the meal, the kids complained that it was far too spicy which resulted in my youngest crying. Therefore, I phoned them up and they informed me that they make their own sauces and the buffalo sauce IS the least spiciest sauce they make. Which in my opinion is false as clearly it was not, even my husband who likes spicy food stated that it was far from mild. Additionally, they tried to resolve my issue but it seemed like they weren't willing to help in any way and just stated that I should order lemon and herb next time, also they didn't do anything to compensate me on my issue and stated that they could not do anything as there was no driver and they asked me if I could travel back but it is not possible because my husband has gone to work and I have no possible way to get there. I am highly disappointed and regretfully stating that I will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy first experience at Frankie's was decent. The service was good and the food arrived fast. It was tasty aside from a menu item being a bit misleadingly described but that was solved the second time around.
What was not solved however was the terrible service by the gentleman who took our order on the second visit.
On his important phone call, clearly not paying attention and distracted the whole time, got 2 orders wrong (included a meal when neither of us asked for a meal) and thus charged us extra for this and then a random 40p charge was added for a drink nobody asked for on top of the meal which would have left us with an extra drink.
I also asked for rice with my order and received chips and had to ask a different member of staff to get this rectified and the prices seem to have raised since my last visit and the quality of food isn't any better.
The 10 chargrilled chicken wings we received were abysmal and went unfinished, truly a rarity when it comes to food for me. A terrible experience especially since my parents had made the journey out to Batley to try this place out at my original recommendation.
As far as I'm concerned the Batley branch of Frankie's bottled it and I won't be returning any time soon....
