Luigi's Birstall — Restaurant in Kirklees

Lovely place, food was nice although my daughter had chicken stripes with garlic butter, unfortunately the chicken was greasy. Myself and my husband had tge chicken kiev calzone which was nice, my son had the meat calzon which he enjoyrd, the other member of our group had spaghetti carbonara, which he enjoyed. However we weren't offered any black pepper or parmesan cheese, disappointing. We felt very rushed, before we even sat down someone came over asking what we'd like to drink, then completely missing out one of our group, he wasn't asked until I mentioned it when they brought the drinks to us. Once the food arrived, we weren't waiting long and it was nice and hot, again the service staff were there reaching across the table whilst we were eating to retrieve empty pop bottles, different service staff. As soon as you put your knife and fork down again the service staff were there asking if you'd finished even whilst others were still eating. Once the table was cleared two different members of staff asked if we'd like dessert, straight after each other. Maybe each member of staff should be designated their own tables/area? I am really not happy with the service and food I received. I decided to order a more expensive Italian last night as a treat for my family . The food didn’t come for 2 hours . When it came items in the order were completely wrong . The pizza wasn’t what I ordered , and the pastas were ice cold and rock hard this honestly has never seen traditional food ! More like microwave 😡😡😡 . I was missing a item also . When coming to ring the restaurant to obviously explain what’s wrong with my order that I waited 2 hours for ! they didn’t answer . 30 times I rang this restaurant. I understand they may have been busy but that’s why as a business if you offer a delivery services over the phone you have to make sure you can answer and be there incase issues like this happen!! They said I could pay by card at the door when the food came, however the driver had no card machine and wasn’t told anything . So he had to leave me with the food and came Back later on . I am not happy at all . Why make it impossible to reach out when issues like this are happening ‘ the food was shocking and the service well that's another story ! Do Not order...

Staff hovering to take our starters while we were still eating them, then brought out our mains and put them in front of the couple next to us. Waitress assured us we would not be given those and they would be made fresh. A different server then came over and asked if we were ready for them now. Questioned him and he said they were the same meals that had already been brought out . When I expressed displeasure at this he said " they have been back in the pan though, just try them" We had ordered filet steak and a rack of lamb, the price of the 2 dishes was £60. It was ok but not hot, but my main problem that was it felt like a second hand meal that had been in and out of the pan and kitchen and put down in front of other people before finally maki g its way to us.
