Disgusting Food - BE WARNED I visited the Obediah Brook Cleckheaton with my wife for a Curry Night, we ordered 2 x Chicken Katsu, Poppadoms & Dips, when the food arrived the Poppadoms were dripping with oil, my wife pointed this out to the Manager who reluctantly brought 4 more Poppadoms which were also dripping with oil,the Manager advised the Poppadoms were cooked to Wetherspoon's Standard and there would be no refund or replacement, a second Manager brought a third round of Poppadoms which were just as bad as the first & second lot, after a heated discussion we were given a cash refund for the Poppadoms even though I had paid by card. As we were finishing our food the young male Manager came to the table alleging inappropriate comments about Weatherspoon's Kitchen Staff had been made, we were asked to leave and advised we were no longer welcome at Wetherspoon's, the Customer Service skills & attitude of the 2 Managers were apauling to say the least. The male Manager said he would intimidate us by standing at the table until we left. There are some great pubs serving much better food within walking distance of Wetherspoon's - The Marsh, The Rose & Crown,...
Read moreWe come for breakfast regularly and cannot fault the food and service at this time...however..it seems the staff cannot cope with the sheer volume at busier, later times. We came for lunch today..did a few laps of the place before finding an empty table..there were quite a lot of empty tables..with leftover food and drinks still in them...no one was clearing the tables..many customers we witnessed looking round and leaving. We ordered from the app after clearing a table ourselves to sit at..we were then told to choose something else as it wasn't available. I then went to get cups for the coffee..we'd been waiting a while,to be told there were no clean cups. I said I'd wait, was told to go back to my seat..waited some more and decided I was going to get my own. We'd been sat a good half hour, the tables upstairs still not cleared and customers still walking out. Not the best experience I've had in here, clearly the staff are stretched, not their fault tho, management need to get the fingers out...
Read moreThe worst Wether Spoons I have have ever had the misfortune to visit, which is a shame as it had a huge refit since time ago. The issue is mainly the staff and lack of any decent understanding of what hospitality is. They bully, slander, gossip about and bar people for no good reason; indeed for just being a friend of anyone that they don't like. Most recently they have featured in the Sun newspaper, local papers and as writing this have television reporters interested in how a group of pensioners were banned for celebrating the Coronation. Hopefully the place closes down soon so a different and more appropriate hospitality environment can move into the then vacant pub. As at current I don't know anyone local with a nice thing to say about the staff or the venue. Avoid at all costs even if you generally visit other pubs in this chain as you will be shocked at the attitudes and behaviours of the entire staff team. Disgusting is an...
