Wired Coffee and Cake — Restaurant in Kirklees

Visited after hearing about this place and travelled 30 mins to sample the coffee and cake. It didn’t disappoint. To our delight this is a small, independent coffee shop offering fantastic coffee which is locally produced, with knowledgeable staff who know and are passionate about what they do. They were friendly and approachable hosts and we will absolutely be back, particularly loving that it is open 10-3 on a Sunday, perfect for a drive over the hills to visit.

The coffee was Local roaster Darkwoods, breeed to perfection with a deep flavour. We had a macchiato. The owner also let us try the filter coffee for interest. He rotates the beans for variety which is a lovely touch.

Finally we brought two cakes home with us, saved for later. Wow the mint chocolate sponge cake/muffin was stunning. Light and fluffy sponge that was moist and springy then topped with mint muffin buttercream which was to die for and an after eight. Yum yum yum. My husbands cake was apparently delicious too but it was gone before I could ask to share.

As a local girl and coffee fanatic this place is a fabulous addition to Honley! Offering yummy craft coffee from our Slaitwaite based Darkwoods (an amazing local roaster) every cup is reliably good quality and tastes great thanks to Oliver’s attention to detail with his barista skills. Oliver and Kate the owners are so friendly and welcoming which encourages a fab sense of community. The cafe is clean with lots of natural light and looks out over the cobbles of Church Street providing lovely environment to relax. Oliver also runs his wedding cake business from the premises bonus been Wired offer fresh baked goodies and breads. I hope they thrive here and keep doing their thing!...

A hidden gem in huddersfield!

Very little shops around the world can compare to the care and relaxing atmosphere that this place offers. After visiting this shop for over 3 years I decided to take a Job as staff in this little place! To be able to reach and connect more with my community and promote myself as a private spanish teacher (completly succeded) I must say that the kindness,care, and loving heart of this place can not be measured in words.
