03.12.24 I came here with my work for a Christmas meal. Worse mistake of my entire life!!! Please please don’t visit this pub avoid at all costs. I have lived in my bathroom morning, afternoon and night with diarrhea and projectile vomiting from the Burger and chips which I ate here. I have been off work since Tuesday and only Friday I managed to work from home. Today was my ultimate priority to write this review for other people thinking of visiting this pub. See attached image of my sick from the burger if you think I am exaggerating. I have never in my entire life felt so unwell along with the worst stomach aches possible. For a pub which looks good on the outside the food was served cold, the burger wasn’t even tasty. I don’t know how they made that burger for me but something with the preparation has gone wrong and they need to be accountable for this. Once thing to mention is that I noticed they brought out the food very quickly baring in mind there was a group of us. Could they have prepared this in the morning? For our booking in the afternoon? It makes you wonder. Today 07.12.24 I called the pub to put in an official complaint. I spoke with Beth she confirmed she’s a manager for the pub. She said there’s no evidence to suggest it’s the pub and that nothing much can be done basically, her attitude was very abrupt and no apology at all. She made me feel like I was lying about my experience and symptoms. It was only when I mentioned that I will be leaving a bad review with pictures that she asked if the pictures could be sent to her. So basically you only care now that I’m leaving a bad review? Ok. I explained to her I’m very upset that you’re not doing anything further and that you can’t even offer a refund for the burger at minimum and she went onto say there’s no evidence it’s the pub and that I need to go to my GP with stool to get evidence and then they can look into refunding. Ok I would have done that earlier in the week if I would have knew but I already explained to her I’ve taken diahorrea tablets to stop myself from going to the toilet because I was going so regular. She was very unhelpful so I disconnected the line. I will wait to hear from environmental health. Again please avoid at all costs. A company so big can’t even offer a Ā£14 refund for a burger what does that say about them. Just think how much you make daily, monthly, yearly. Customers clearly aren’t...

Services is shocking no one comes to you. was waiting at table for 20 mins, no one came. went to bar stood like an idiot for an extra 15 minutes. Guy at the bar was talking to a girl that greeted us as we come in. Both were in the back where you could see from the counter where you order, talking for a while while my partner is waving at them like an idiot. He told the guy at the bar that we had been waiting for a while. Been told someone will be with us shortly when we come in, an no one come. (Just to confirm we was sat opposite the tills so in plane view of everyone) an all he could say was oh sorry. Ordered food, food I can’t knock. I my self said we’re going and I prepped to walk out, just as Im going, I over heard the women to what looked to be the manger come out from kitchen, an the girl replied to her manager no one has been in an come to meā€ Wait…. we come to you, you told us to sit down, an told us someone will be with us shortly. Now I would have stopped and said something but I’m one that can’t hold my mouth an I have respect for my children who I also had with me. First time visit. I won’t be coming again. Like I say though I can’t knock the food, was cooked to perfection.

Just replying to your comment, maybe if the staff had told us we could have ordered on our phone (communication) we would have done. As goes for ā€œwe don’t do table serviceā€ then why did your staff greet us very briefly as we come in, told us someone will be with us shortly. Could have said you can order on app or when ready go to till, neither was mentioned. An when we eventually spoke to someone at the tills, after waiting a while AT THE TILLS also, why did he not mention that you don’t do table service. Still no excuse, was waiting at the tills for a while not just the table. Training is obviously needed. My family eat out on a regular basis, an haven’t been treated like this up to press in all times we’ve been going out. I could understand no one being about if you was busy but there was 3/4 tables occupied. It was completely dead at the time we came. But Thanks for your reply though, don’t want anyone put off by my review because you may well sort out more training. But I won’t be returning...

The staff were slow at serving, we took our son with us who works for one of your pubs.He was really disappointed and not happy with the service at all. He’s going to let the boss of his pub know about them. The order for food and drink was given and the girl serving got 2 Pepsis. One normal and one Pepsi zero even though the order said 2 Pepsis. We point this out to her and she showed us the order with 2 Pepsis on it and then said look that’s what you ordered, Looking blankly at us and not offering to change it. No ice or lemon was offered. She then walked off and started serving someone else. We then had to wait so we could say ā€œexcuse me but we ordered 4 drinks and you’ve only give us 2ā€. No apology just struggled to find the drinks we wanted. It took over 10 minutes to order our food and drink when there was only 5 other people in the pub. The food was ok, but steak should have been medium rare but was well done. They didn’t come t ask if everything was ok until we had nearly finished. We were offered a free drink or pudding. We had a pudding and the one that was free, was sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. That one came out last, with an apology that the ice was all melted. It was slightly warm with melted ice cream. It was a first visit for 3 of the party and will be the last. I use to go a lot a few years ago but it’s not like it use to be. A very poor experience with what we believe to be a manager who wasn’t helping anyone and strolling round like a peacock, then announcing ā€œoh I’m going back in my officeā€ as if he had to let everyone know he...

I was staying at the Travelodge next door over night. Arrived in time for lunch. The pub has a nice feel. Warm and cozy. Ordered the chicken and bacon sandwich for my lunch. Pub was quite busy. Rocked up to my table about 10 mins later. Really good sandwich. Hot and tasty. Although it frozen chicken. Not breast. Decided to go for tea. Ordered the Lamb Koftas for starter and the 12oz Ribeye/ medium for main. My starter arrived in about 10 mins. Hot and quite nice. Salad a bit sparse. After finishing my main arrived 10 mins after. Same amount of chips I had with my sandwich for lunch. Although the sandwich said it came with less than a main. Nice piece of steak. Not a bad cut. Got about 4 bites into it. Had to send it back as it arrived rare. Not medium as ordered. The waitress was apologetic. It arrived back to me in 5 mins. Steak was now medium/rare. I ate most of it as my meal was only getting colder. The meal was passable for the price. But the chef's blaytently need some lessons in how to cook steak. I will say the staff where amazing. Especially the Gentleman running the bar. He had been there all day. Was doing 30hrs in two days. A top man. And a credit to the pub. I would go again if not for the service.

I was staying at the Travelodge next door over night. Arrived in time for lunch. The pub has a nice feel. Warm and cozy. Ordered the chicken and bacon sandwich for my lunch. Pub was quite busy.
