So I've primarily been to The Beck and Call as an entertainer for their school holiday discos, but I have sometimes stayed and enjoyed the atmosphere and the food after dancing about for an hour and a half! The food I have had has come to me hot and tasty with a portion sometimes a bit too big so I've struggled to finish it. I often see visitors to the discos also thoroughly enjoying the food and rarely see empty plates, and even spending longer playing in the playground at the back of the pub even after I've packed up and headed home. They hold events throughout the year including New Years and Bonfire Night with fireworks which are great for all the family. You can also hold your own event there by hiring the Orangery room where they'll set up the food table for you, provide the food at the right moment in the party, and sort out their resident entertainer for you, all inclusive in the price to hire. Positives: Lots of car parking with disabled access, great selection on the menu and good clean toilet facilities. The Orangery space is suitable for parties up to 25 children. Negatives: I'd love to be able to darken or black out the Orangery for a Neon Disco but would have to be saved for the darker winter months.

Recommended by a friend. I don't normally listen. On this occasion. Glad that I did. The food was absolutely delicious. Every member of our group had a different version of the Sunday lunch and all agreed their meats were perfect. I had the vegetarian haggis which wasn't for my tastes. Too soft a texture for my palate, I prefer the crunch of a nut roast. That's just me though. Deserts were just as nice. The service was brilliant, but the food was a little slow to come out. I'm going to make an exception though as it was father's day. I will certainly be going back for Sunday lunch again. Hopefully that is enough of a seal of approval 👌 Also completely dog friendly which for our in laws is perfect. Updated 24/8/25 Been back a 2nd time and the food was just as good and now they were selling pizza outside done in in the portable fire ovens. We had beef, lamb and pork belly all were done superbly and an extra of cauliflower cheese topped it off. The service this time was perfect. I think because it was a little later in the day so quieter. We are around 15:30 if that is helpful.

Disappointed Sunday Lunch at Beck & Call We had a reservation for Sunday lunch at Beck & but were very disappointed with my experience. Despite having a reservation, we were greeted poorly and seated in a loud, family-oriented area with a dirty table. The wait for food was over an hour, and the food itself was overpriced and cold. The gravy was watery, the Yorkshire pudding was hard, and the roast potatoes and vegetables were average. There was no table service and the overall experience felt neglected. Manager sat near the entrance door doing her rotas not the best time or place. I would not recommend Beck & Call for Sunday lunch and suggest trying The Roundhay Fox instead, which offers better value for money in a more pleasant setting.

Empty leeds needs life i find most of places to enjoy here are disappearing at a fast pace if any body has any views on good places to try i would like to enjoy good food with good people 😊 I feel vindecated in saying this only the place has dried up . Please do not read in to reviews regarding the public house in Hawksworth as its very discriminating against any person who drinks to a happy medium 😀 they only allow the locals in leeds 16 to enjoy them self's to the full potential. I really can't understand if you knock a pint over in the Broadway and clean up after your self you get barred for a few weeks as I was informed after I had been really generous with my rating I felt they just cheated in kindness for the rating the Broadway on butcher hill is not true as they have really been very rude in how they was to myself. Only staff were lovely only Steve landlord has really dealt myself a low blow in given that he had no valid call to send messages through staff asking me not to return for a number of weeks. Please refrain from the falseness of that carictor because its certainly a false pub to be leaded to only don't dismiss that pub until you go and find out for yourself it is a Heineken pub brand .16 pounds I paid for excellent food . Only that's all I found that people 💯 are lovely only the discriminating factors were my speech impediment and the way that pub opperates i really would not like to understand why these people are been horrible to me maybe my...

First Time & First Impressions!

We went for the very first time on a late warm Saturday afternoon. We were able to get a table inside as a lot of customers were having drinks outside and absorbing as much Vitamin D as possible. The host Ben, gave us a choice as to where we'd like to sit. Not once had the "Host" mentioned the length of wait for the food, any allergies and even how it works to order food, seen as though it's the first time we've been.

After looking at the menu, I waited in the queue for around 10-15 minutes, yes it was busy due to the weather.

I got to the bar to order, only to be told that there's an hour wait for food. That was too long to wait, especially with a 6 year old child.

Deciding to go elsewhere, I queried with the host, Ben, why no-one mentioned on seating us that it's an hour wait for the food. He advised that it's no longer an hour and that the staff haven't been updated about this?! (Why not?!)

The host then stated that the food will take around 30-40 minutes as it's cooked fresh and that the normal time.

Not impressed at all and definately not what I expected with the service, especially from all the talk from other customers.

I'd like to give it a chance and come back, maybe when it's quieter, to try the food and and give another review but this visit was VERY...
