The Olive Chapel Allerton — Restaurant in Leeds

I was very disappointed in this restaurant as they spoiled my birthday celebrations. I called on 30th June and booked a table for 13 people for 8pm Friday 27th July for my 30th birthday. We turned up 10 minutes early to find the restaurant very full and a large party that had clearly just sat down. When i told them we were here for our reservation they states i didnt have one. They were very rude and stated that i must have made a mistake and called and booked the wrong restaurant. They were very insistant that it was my mistake and did not apologise. They made me doubt myself as there are a few restaurants with the same name. I have since been back through my phone records and confirmed that i did infact call and book the correct restaurant!

I am very disappointed and upset as i understand mistakes can be made. But, to make me feel soo stupid on my birthday and to have given our table away when it wasn't even my fault, was very cruel and unfair.

Olive Tree has been recommended to me from a few people over the years so we took Mum there for her birthday meal. Two of us ordered sardines for starters which had obviously gone off. That wasn't all though the service became increasingly rude and harrassing. They were trying to rush us out and tried to take my plate 4 times before I had finished. If that wasnt bad enough the waiter took it upon himself to harrass us by continually knocking into poor mums chair everytime he walked past. We couldnt believe it at first but as we watched we realised he was definitely doing it purposefully, there being a wide enough gap for him to easily get past. We were made to feel very unwelcome, an annoyance if anything and served food that had gone off. It was the worst restaurant visit I have ever had to endure. Absoloute rubbish, there was no good aspect to it. The head waiter did call us the next day and apologised profusely and offered us a food voucher but nothing would get me back in...

My family and I dined here last Saturday to celebrate my birthday but unfortunately it was a horrible experience. Firstly, the reservation was for 6.45pm, however at around 4.30pm I had received a call by the owner asking if we were okay to come in for 6.30pm instead as they needed our table back by 8.15pm. I wasn’t pleased as I had made this reservation very early in January, however I had still obliged. Secondly, when we finished our meal by 7.40pm, a waitress had asked us if we wanted coffee or desserts, then proceeded to tell us that they needed our table back by 8pm. My family and I felt very unwelcome, since the time that they needed our table back seemed to become earlier and earlier.
