Toby Carvery Harrogate road Leeds West Yorks Neil GM I have been coming to the Queens for many many years. As a former non-executive director, CEO and independent chair for AUAG I believe I’m well qualified to say the service and warmth that I receive at the Queens is exemplary. Manager always greets you warmly, it’s so professional and so diligent I cannot say any more than five star plus Customer Services. It is very important when regulars come to a pub, they have felt to be treated with respect and kindness from Neil. I find the quality of food excellent warm pot and the staff are always keen to please you with a can-do approach. I really appreciate quality staff and team leadership shown by Neil in all he does, excellent customer conduct and above all being welcome to a local pub that I’ve spent over 25 years. I highly recommend this place on the base excellent service and the goodwill I always get from the Queen. Having, undertaken previously the NHS assurance and customer surveys, changes in services , custom experience, for the council extending to the social caare and transport engagement , I am firmly aware of how staff should be - at the NHS as a board member leader and voluntary sector CEO it gives me a great pleasure in knowing quality stuff to exist in the current climate we live in seeing and observing this. Jean Paul is always smiling and excellent addition to the team. Thanks Kind regards J

Always a good meal here and value for money. Sadly the roasties are never as perfect as in photos on the internet site and FB so a bit of digging is involved to get semi decent ones. The meat portions are at the discression of the carver but usually enough for me. My other gripe is that the single glass pop price should be a lot less than the unlimited refill price because as it stands, most people take the unlimited choice (if asked...see below) and then just have one glass anyway. Good for the company but not the customer. Also the unlimited refill price seems to go on the bill by default. I can never remember being asked which I want. Nothing I've said will stop me going but I'd just be happier if changes were made. Updated review 14/1/25... Just back from another excellent carvery as it's a Tue-Fri 50% off a mains week. (does include drinks or desserts) Can't beat these regular offers and as my app's reward card now has 5 "stamps", I get a reward of 30% off the TOTAL BILL for up to 6 people to be taken in the next 4 weeks. Love these rewards. Update 27/5/25 Thanks to the app and going just 3 times, the 3rd carvery visit today was free. Can't beat a free carvery.

On arrival, we waited at the entrance. Was not greeted with a hello or good morning. We were not acknowledged at all, which is strange that we were the only ones in the queue and faced the staff. We wanted veggie items as we don't eat Pork. This took 15 min to arrive but we already collected our breakfast from the buffet. The quality of the breakfast is poor. The only eggs were scrambled unless you ask for other types. The eggs on offer (scrambled) look like the ratio of 5 eggs to a litre of milk. Beans watery and under cooked. Mushrooms tastes. Hash brown deep-fried in old smelly oil. Bacon, sausage and cubes of potato that had bits of bacon in them or red onions, wasn't sure which. The staff were reasonably nice but nothing special. It's a good place if you want to sacrifice quality for cost. As it's a buffet you can go back as many times you like.

Just been in for breakfast this morning and it was absolutely rank. Seriously how hard can it be to prepare and serve food to an edible level. Waiting ten minutes with a load of other people for some eggs to be brought out, and when they arrived they were barely cooked. Not only were they not cooked but they were swimming in grease. You couldn't get them onto your plate down to a combo of swimming in fat and them not being cooked. The "chef" eventually removed them as nobody would touch them. There was at least half an inch of fat in the egg dish. Bacon with loads of uncooked white fat on the side, hash browns and a potato dish that were just mush and barely cooked sausages were all just awful. Oh and there was no butter for the toast; just some plastic tasting margarine. Horrible and a waste of money.

A really unenjoyable visit. The place was full of students using vouchers for cut price meals, meaning there was a lot of faffing about at the till and HUGE queues at the carvery. There were up to three chefs behind the hot plates but two of them were doing takeaway orders. This isn't what you want to see when there are over 20 people in front of you. The chef cutting the meat did his best and tried to get the queue down quickly, but again he gave out a pathetic portion of really low quality, fatty meat. Is there a meat shortage or something?? It cost me nearly £30 for two drinks and two meals and it was rubbish. Half the veg dishes were empty and it wasn't pleasant waiting around for them to be hopefully filled up while a queue full of people are willing you to get out of their way so they can finally get served. My two pathetic slices of gammon were so fatty I couldn't eat them. Literally the only good thing about the night was the beef dripping roast potatoes. They were lush. Everything else was a disaster....

Very poor service. Taken to table which was pre-booked, advised a member of staff would be over to take our order. 20 minutes later a member of staff finally came to us. They just said they thought someone else had taken our order. We ordered food and drinks. Part we through our meal we ordered more drinks. After at least another 20 minutes the drinks still had not come and the whole party had finished their main meals. I had them went and searched for a member of staff to cancel the drinks order as my 3 young children were getting hot and restless. I paid the bill and as I was ready to leave remembered the kids were meant to get a dessert. I once again searched for a member of staff to ask if we could get ice lollies to take away. This member of staff was very rude and told me because I had not ordered the desserts with the rest of the food or found a member of staff and asked for them before paying the bill we couldn’t have them (even though they had already been paid for). Thankfully another member of staff over heard the discussion and was happy to give us the ice lollies to take away with. The whole visit was full of unnecessary stress which in all...
