Suffer with bad esophagitis and Gastro Reflux Disease. Read the menu to ensure that what I was ordering didn’t include onions as they’re an extreme trigger for me. After reading it over I ordered “goats cheese borlotti crostini” which the ingredients didn’t state onions at all. Nor did the recipes for it online that I looked up prior, this then came out caked in uncooked onions which if I ate I’d of suffered for days.
Once I took it back just to say I’ll leave it, I was met with sour hostility and “you should’ve mentioned it” - so I said “well it should say it in the list of ingredients, like other bits on the menu do” to which they said “we don’t have to list it as it’s not an allergen” - whereas half their menu with onions included mentions onions, this one did not.
Disappointed and wouldn’t return to this place, staff seemed unpleasant and they don’t cater for certain types of people only the ones they want to. Was blamed for them not including an ingredient on the recipe as I “didn’t ask”… ridiculous.
At the end I was met with “it’s like going to a curry shop and them having to state onions” - but a curry always includes onions so I KNOW not to order this! A Borlotti Crostini does not include onions in the regular recipe as I’ve researched this. So therefore despite there not being a law, why inconvenience customers? The rule of thumb is your customer is always right; here she couldn’t argue more with me about them being in the right. Would advise not visiting if you have any gastro problems, or 100% double check with them beforehand it doesn’t include triggers for you as they don’t list all ingredients in something simple like beans on toast…. You might order toast and it comes with onions on by...
Read moreAfter coming here for quite a while, I must say that this place is really missing a few basics.
The food in general is faultless, honestly. However, it’s not only FOOD, that you pay for nowadays! It’s the experience, the mood, the ambience, the service, the whole ‚going-the-extra-mile’.
First of all, you must remember to wear your worst clothes when you go there. Otherwise, you will have to put all your clothes up for dry cleaning - the non-exisiting ventilation system ALWAYS makes you smell like you are always the cook. Spoils the day!
Service is either not listening or falsely kind; on a few occasions I noticed people being nice to my face, only to turn around and talk behind my back.
Today, I asked for some extra parsley, only to receive literally two leaves of curled parsley from the cook herself! What an honour!
I wansn’t upset or angry but I felt stupid for even asking for anything.
Fix your air con people and be more generous...
Read moreA great deli in Morley! I've been wanting a local coffee spot in Morley and I do think that this is now it! No other cafe/deli in the area pulls espresso like Boomerang Deli. Not many people seem to care about their quality of coffee but Boomerang Deli does and it doesn't go unnoticed. Their latte's carry a beautiful micro foam and the temperature is as hot as possible without being overdone. The food was great too. I had a mozzarella, tomato and pesto toasted panini (hot mozz as the waitress called it!). And it came nice and hot, very fresh and very tasty. The service here was top notch too, pleasant smiling staff, everyone I dealt with seemed like they enjoyed working here and wasn't just there to do a job. I had a small lunch for two with two drinks and I paid just over a tenner! Unheard of! Extremely good value for money.
Great experience, will be back soon to try...
