Caballero serves up a delightful blend of ambiance and fare with a few quirks on the side. Visiting for an early breakfast, the establishment's decor sets the stage for a positively engaging experience. The color scheme resonates with an almost soothing allure, effortlessly paired with the charmingly ornate hanging light shades. This ambiance is further complemented by the rhythmic hum of background music that gently invites you into a state of relaxation. Now, coming to the core purpose of a restaurant - the food. The coffee and pancakes with mascarpone are a hit-and-miss. The pancakes, albeit slightly chewy, offered a pleasingly sweet taste that I enjoyed. However, they came in a bit colder than preferred, causing the mascarpone to melt completely. My guess is they languished for a good five minutes on the counter before they found their way to my table - an oversight that needs to be addressed. The service is where things take an unconventional twist. Imagine my surprise when my breakfast was delivered by a staff member sporting gym leggings, which is quite an unusual sight in a restaurant-lounge setting. Her demeanor was friendly and approachable, but her attire did make it challenging to distinguish staff from fellow patrons. While a relaxed vibe is appreciated, a bit more clarity in staff attire would certainly contribute to a more seamless experience. Despite these oddities, I find myself captivated by Caballero's overall charm. It exudes a laid-back vibe that is hard not to love. Will I be back? Absolutely, as long as they promise hot pancakes next time. If you're looking for a slightly eccentric but enjoyable breakfast experience, Caballero could be your spot. Just don't be too surprised if your waitress could be mistaken for a fellow diner.

A really welcome addition to The Springs. A chilled vib with coffee, alcohol and food, which caters for Vegan and Gluten-free amongst others. Pet friendly and has both high backed chairs and comfortable sofas and chairs. Staff are welcoming and engaging (even though they didn't know I was doing a review). So that's the ups. What about the downs? No cask ales and I'm guessing it will be a 'busy' success given the limited other bars and restaurants (Nando's, Piccolinos, Franco's Costa... Thats it). Outside seating will be excellent during the warmer months. Average prices, well presented. Good luck everyone and welcome to Leeds ! **Update** So a few months on now... Still a lovely addition, but tonight we were able to better evaluate the food. By far and away, the burgers are best value. I had the Nasi Goreng and it was very nice, however (!) There was little evidence or any prawns and we only spotted a few shreds of chicken. I'd rather pay £2-3 more for a full bowl and more evidence of the above (and more than two slices of chilli). Failing that - piping hot is a must for a fried rice dish! "Come on guys, so close.... "

Good food in nice surroundings, however, have visited on two occasions and same problems with ordering. There is a QR code to scan for ordering but couldn't get it to work. Also issues with connecting to WiFi. You can order at the bar, but limited staff taking orders and making drinks. We were a group of four and all ended up ordering at the bar. Food came out separately with some of us waiting 10min after the others were served. Having said that the food was really good. Also dogs are allowed inside the restaurant which personally I don't agree with. That and the ordering system may put me off visiting in future.

People have complained about wait times??? All I can say is it arrived as fast as a weatherspoons! The quality was also equal to that of a weatherspoons meal, which explains the speed of delivery! I ordered the stir fried rice which should have contained prawns and chicken. The prawns were easily mistaken for clumps of rice. My 10 yr old daughter amusingly referred to them as prawn foetus they were that small. The chicken well that was two tiny pieces! Overall very poor quality! Rice with soy sauce and a few tiny bits of chilli n spring onion. £13 for something so poor is robbery! I also added some tender stem broccoli with garlic n chilli, it contained neither, just two tiny chillis which had nooo heat at all. My daughter had a large Mac n Cheese! Powdered sauce and some flakes of cheese on top which was barely melted! £10 for that, which my daughter compared to Aldi’s microwave meal version! Terrible effort! My partner who has had stomach surgery recently, tried to order the soup of the day! None left! Even though there was a blackboard sign on the bar!! She had humous and a side salad. Can’t go really wrong with the humous as it’s straight owt the pack and the house salad was exactly that, a salad! Also no ice cream sundae’s left! Save your self a trip and go somewhere else, preferably weatherspoons if you want cheap quick meals as the comparison was exactly the same! At least at weatherspoons you know it’s fast and cheap you can order at your table via the app. Here you go to the bar and get ripped off!...

Father’s day at caballero .. Among arriving i was greeted by a smiley face chappy who was more than happy to help find me a seat. It was pretty packed out and i could tell all the staff were working hard. He promptly cleared a table for me and my family to sit at. Now with the ordering you have two options QR code or at the bar. I’m so glad i opted for the bar service as the cheery girls behind it really put a smile on my face. I was served my a dark haired girl in a striped shirt (she’s a real credit to your team) , great with my kids and still cracking jokes even with all the pressure she was under . We was told the wait was around an hour which we was hesitant about but once we took a sip of our gorgeous elderflower coolers we were more than happy to sit and enjoy the good vibes caballero has to offer. Considered these workers were rushed off their feet they did an absolutely amazing job and you should all be very proud of yourself. The food came in about 45 mins , again considering this was father’s day and every table was full , it wasn’t too shabby . The food was amazing , well worth the wait. Overall a great experience just wish other customers were as considering and understanding as me. See you soon...
