I went to costa Kirkstall shopping center yesterday with my children for evening coffee, I had my 7 years old daughter and my 15 years old son with me , when I went to the till to order my coffees and stuff there was a very disrespectful staff young guy who was really angry and was looking so tired, he was so in rush and didn’t answer me properly, I asked him could you please tell me which cold drink you have for kids at the moment, he was disrespectfully said the menu is on front of you, and after that I was getting told from my 15 years old boy and said mum why he is acting like that he is not respecting us at all , few minutes later we order our coffee and stuff & with carrot cake too , what I saw the way he cut the slice of a cake was smashed, and I was asking him why did you have to smash the slice please, would you mind change it , he went to me very disrespectfully and said that’s a way they are & you order it 😳 I was shock and asked again but this time he made a lye and said you shouted on me, but there was people around who was a customer that they can be witness for that , I said I didn’t I only asked if you could change the cake but he refused and said I am not going to serve you and I am the only one who is in charge today I will give a full refund now and you walk away , I mean with my 2 young children I am still in shock, I paid half cash and half card after that without he asking me he said he put all the money back to my card without any proof I walked out and I am still waiting for my money back to get back to my bank account ,, after 18 years experience with costa and I was a bit fan of costa , that was a only place I liked for coffee , I don’t like it anymore, At the end such a shame on him that he is disrespected me and my children...
Read moreI visited Costa today because the lady I care for wanted to eat there, even though Costa food isn’t really to my taste. She placed her order, and when the staff asked if that was all, she confirmed and paid. Then, instead of asking me for my order (as I hadn’t ordered yet), the barista immediately turned to the customer behind me—who seemed like a regular—and began preparing their drink without acknowledging me.
I politely said, “I haven’t made my order yet,” and the barista gave me a very unpleasant look. The customer behind me apologised, and I reassured them it wasn’t their fault. I went back into the queue and waited, and another staff member came to take my order. Unfortunately, he got it wrong, and when I corrected it, the original barista returned, replaced the item, and practically threw the plate onto my tray. She didn’t offer a fork or a napkin and turned her back to continue serving the next customer—this time with a smile.
I was left speechless and tense. I genuinely couldn’t tell whether she was just having a bad day, being rude, or something more serious like discrimination. Either way, it made me feel really uncomfortable.

Read moreI was in a queue and I this women seemed under stress and she was directing me to wait in the queue felt like I was spoken to quite sternly and she looked at me quite menacingly I was left feeling like the customer service was horrible she may have been stressed but no need for the impolite tone I thankfully didn't see her again thankfully, but I swore I wouldn't go back to costa for a coffee again but I went back and this young gentleman was really helpful and forthcoming and polite so I think he made up for where the other barista lacked but then the customer service standards have been quite poor so I started using a different costa instead because that pleasant experience appeared to be a one off, I hope some of the staff find what their looking for anyway they all deserve happiness and contentment in their lives inspite of thier differences but this l place isnt for me personally because of the lack of respect towards the customers in general I hope some others dont have a...
