Possibly the worst pub i have been in , staff loudly complaining about having to work the bar, who I assumed is the bar manager more invested in showing off his pizza hat than helping advise his staff member who was having an issue with the till, no urgency and slow service.

I can't reply to your embarrassingly defensive and deflecting response so I will edit this post.

The staff shouldn't be complaining in front of customers, for whatever reason.

The service was slow , anyone who has worked in hospitality knows that the majority of customers don't give feedback, they just don't return, and/or will will their friends and family .

It's embarrassing that the landlord doesn't know the till system , I am not sure how you thought this would be a better justification, particularly how the excuse of the staff not knowing the new till system seems to be a regular excuse given.

The other customer was trying to get my attention how many times? Instead of telling you him to not bother other customers you made me interact with him , and I all i said was i would be able to work out where condiments were if I needed them, just because you were fawning other him doesn't mean other paying customers are obliged to , maybe tell the bar staff to inform people about condiments so customers don't feel they assist them to avoid this in future?

Don't worry , I won't be returning , I am sure you are as heart...

Last Friday my Father and I dropped in for lunch. We had never been here before, and chose it from Google maps. Dad is in a wheel chair and the access for wheelchairs is a bit tight, not sure motorized ones would get in. Fortunately we could, and once inside it was nice and warm, with a very pleasant atmosphere. We were the first in, and Lucy made us very welcome. They have only taken on running the pub around 3 months ago. There were 3 menus on offer. A Seniors menu for those wanting a smaller portion. A two course menu, and the main menu. The food was excellent, holsome, tasty and good portions. Dad had Gammon, chips and peas from the Senior menu. The gammon was beautiful and tender, with big chunky chips, no french fries here. I had Cumberland sausages with mash potato, carrots and peas, served with a thick gravy. Instead of the long spiral Cumberland, it was serves as 3 fat porkers. Everything was delicious, well cooked and full of flavour. I was so stuffed afterwards. It was great to relax in the warm atmosphere with our drinks chatting a little with our host about their plans. The hosts are a young couple, but rest assured they are doing a great job, and hopefully continue to sucessfully operate this nice, spacious welcoming pub. Yes we will be visiting more than once in the future. We spent £23 including £5 on...

I'm disappointed to share this review as me and my family often visit your pub and never before been disappointed myself my husband and kids came on Saturday 26th at 3pm we ordered our food and payed and sat down 45mins later the chef came saying we will not be eating as he's no clean plates or prep done so he can not do our order he blamed the staff member chloe for taking our order but we still sat 45 mins without him telling us I find it highly frustrating as he was then at the end of the bar drinking laughing with patronsand even said if I want to wash up for him maybe he could rustle something up the staff member chloe said the reason he's not making the food is because he won't prep himself and he shouldn't accepted the order iv been left to make this review as there is no complaints email address as I think it's disgusting to have us waiting all that time and we felt like we was been laughed at by the chef he didn't take it seriously how long we was waiting and we go well out our way to come there as the experience is normally alot better than that there was no offer of compensation for our wait or anything I would appreciate a email address to raise this complaint properly...

Christmas Day lunch was brilliant, couldn’t fault it. Always trepidatious about going out for dinner at Christmas but we had no reason to be this year. The food was top tier and there was enough of it to feed a small army, all fresh and tasty and seasoned beautifully. The sticky toffee pudding was absolutely stunning and we brought the cheese board home to dig into later. The service was personable as always and unlike a lot of places on Christmas Day, we didn’t feel rushed or an inconvenience. Even the pooch got her own meal! 10/10 would go again over the festive season. Massive props and thanks to all the staff, the entire experience was faultless and you all did a fantastic job ☺️

We went for lunch as a family group and felt very comfortable from the beginning. Our booked table was set up ready for us with menus to hand. The staff were very accommodating, allowing older children to order from the Seniors menu to get the dishes they really fancied. The food was clearly freshly cooked and came nicely presented. I had the halloumi salad and felt it was great value for money - plenty of halloumi, really nicely roasted peppers, onions and tomatoes, nice fresh salad leaves. The kids loved their burgers (after initial confusion over the charcoal buns) and chips. The ribs and wings platter was huge, but went down extremely well. I would very happily eat here again.

The Neck Oil wasn't very cold, cost £6 for a pint. Place looks really shabby lately. Outside tables had bowls full to the brim of fag ends and litter on the floor, how hard is it to keep things clean and tidy? Toilet rolls and random boxes, crates right next to our inside table. Felt like I was drinking in the store cupboard. All whilst the landlord was sat at the bar doing not a lot by the looks of it. No cuttelry given with food. Had to go search for them amongst all the random stock. Cheesy chips were nice though, so hats off to the chef
