Golden Crust & Grill — Restaurant in Leeds

Where do I begin. Walked in today just looking to be satisfied with a big meal. Went and looked at the menu and immediately found what I was looking for. A chicken tikka wrap. Right up my street. Placed the order with boss man and was rather anxious at the £7 price point. While waiting for boss to cook the scran I took my time examining the shop. I came across the dining area. Took one look at it and immediately regretted my decision. The tables that the shop has were cased in what I thought to be grease. I stood away. A young little boy greeted me with my meal telling me what I ordered as if I didn’t know what I just ordered 5 minutes ago. Now the food. Where did it start. Right, the chips. I asked for cheese to be placed upon my chips but when I came to open the box I found little to none of any cheese. As for the taste I think I’ve had more enjoyment out of watching paint dry. Now onto the wrap. How they called this chicken tikka I’ll never know. Drier than a desert. Honestleh. Just wasn’t for me. Most of the salad in this wrap was half dead. Really really disappointed. Now, this is the bit that ticked me off. The can of coke that came with the meal. Placed under the chips and the wrap warmer than a babies backside. Quite upset I was. Just won’t be returning will I. Was highly recommended to me but no. Just doesn’t live up...

Sadly the new management have killed off this once well ran takeaway. This has been my “go to” takeaway for 14 years. Despite the excessive recent price increases I ordered tonight my usual Biryani, it took over an hour to be delivered and when it came, there was just a Tupperware box of biryani rice. I called them to inform them they’d forgotten to send the sauce. Their reply “we no longer provide the sauce with Biryanis”, I explained to them that every takeaway and every restaurant I’ve ever been to and ordered a Biryani from provides a sauce that’s why Biryani’s are more expensive than other curries, clearly thinking they were mistaken, but no they replied that they don’t. I asked them what they expected me to do with half a meal? And why they think anyone would pay £10.30 for half a meal? How silly! Told them they’d need to pick it back up and give a refund. Which to be fair they did, … but that is ridiculous! … I won’t be ordering...

I recently ordered from Golden Crust & Grill in Garforth and was genuinely impressed. The peri peri chicken was perfectly cooked—juicy inside with a nice spicy kick on the outside. Their pizza was loaded with toppings and had that ideal crispy base, which is hard to find in takeaways. The portion sizes were generous, especially the wings and wraps, and everything arrived hot and fresh. I also tried their cookie dough for dessert, and it was the perfect sweet finish—warm, gooey, and delicious. Loved Strawberry 🍓 🍓 🍓 Milkshake. Customer service was smooth, and the delivery was right on time. It’s clear they care about both food quality and presentation. Definitely one of the better takeaways in the area. Will be ordering again...
