Went Sunday 26th September around lunchtime for the first time in years. As a rule I try avoid McD's but we went as a family and I thought the whole experience was terrible. From getting in from the main road, finding a parking space, waiting 20mins for food then consuming what was ordered. I'll do everything I can to never deal with them again.
So yeah getting in the place, never been great at the best of times but that day was ridiculous. You soon realised the drive thru was very busy and the numerous takeaway delivery services were there collecting with their vehicles parked on the grass verge too. I noticed a friend of ours pulled in three vehicles in front getting a drive thru so I thought this would be a good guide to see who's quickest. We planned on eating outside as the weather was decent. Eventually we're in the car park and managed to squeeze into a spot against the others waiting for their orders and again the various take away pick up vehicles. Whilst waiting outside the food was getting ordered I sat watching the slow drive thru, constant flow of takeaway pick ups and various staff members walking the car park looking for their customers with their orders. When in ear shot I would hear every time the staff saying apologises for the wait we're extremely busy, please check your order to make sure everything's there. This didn't fill me with much confidence that we'd be getting our order anytime soon. As the time past by I noticed my friend from the drive thru had made it to the collection point and the thought oh well he won that race only to see that as they left they then parked up on the grass verge waiting for their order. Looking on the phone like you do I noticed a payment notification from 20min ago and wondered how much longer we would need to wait. Shortly after my friends order arrived. Thinking we should have gone for drive thru instead it wasn't long before our order arrived so neither were the quickest. So the food I ordered what was that like, what delight will I consume after all this. I ordered a medium big Mac meal with vanilla shake. The big Mac wasn't great, the bread bun was almost chewy, the burgers thin and tasteless and the thing that really stood out for flavour was the sauce. The fries were ok as always but the vanilla shake was terrible. That's was far too sweet and had a powder texture to it, nothing like I remembered and one of the things I used to enjoy at McDonald's. Then about an hour after eating, the misery continues and the rest of the afternoon the meal is repeating on me when all I want to do is forget the whole experience.
So yeah I will do everything I can to avoid this place in the future. The rest of the family likes it and I know there are plenty of fans out there too. I'm not surprised by the mixed reviews and to those that love the place fair play but I certainly won't be recommending Macdonald's...
Read moreMcDonald's have introduced a rewards program. If you order through their app, you can place your order on the McDonald's app weather it be for delivery or collection either way. Be sure to get your rewards added to your order. You'll be able to earn rewards quickly that you'll be able to exchange for items up to the value of your rewards amount. Another new feature on their app is that they have 3 daily offers that you can take advantage of.
If you place an order on the McDonald's app to gain your rewards, you then have multiple options. If you're picking your order up, once you arrive at the location of your chosen store, just click 'I'm here' on the McDonald's app. You can then either go through the drive thru with your order code, let them know which bay you're parked in so that they can bring your order out to you, you can go into the store to collect your order with your order reference, alternatively you can have your order delivered to your preferred address.
I'd advise anyone to ask for their fries without salt as they are usually extremely salty, plus they're often cold. They usually have to make a fresh batch with no salt for you meaning you'd get freshly cooked fries. You can also make adjustments to most orders without extra cost. For example, when I order drinks, I request no ice as I find that ice dilutes your drink, plus you usually get more of your chosen drink as ice takes up quite a lot of room in the cups. You can also make adjustments on food items, for example opt for no lettuice or tomato etc. The staff are usually helpful at trying to accommodate for your requirements.
If you're ordering in store or through the drive thru, always check you've got what you ordered prior to leaving. I've forgotten to do so in the past, and to get home on two occasions to realise there were items missing from my family's order was frustrating. Yes, McDonald's put this right with us after I called then, and contacted them via the app, but it spoilt the meals on the two occasions, teenagers is all I'll say.
If you order from Uber Eats, feel free to get £10 off using my code: 'eats-guncvr' You can also grab your McDonald's orders via Uber Eats & most other delivery apps. If ordering through Uber eats, I'd request that your cold drinks especially milkshakes & Mcflurrys come in a separate bags. I've had many orders where the Mcflurry has melted into liquid because the driver put the ice cream with the hot food. If this happens, feel free to contact Uber Eats to let them know you weren't satisfied & why. When I did this, they credited me certain items.
Good luck & enjoy your McD's...

"To my pleasant surprise, the dining experience exceeded my expectations. Often, when I visit restaurants touted as 'good,' the food leaves a lingering taste of burnt oil, making the experience less enjoyable. However, this time, I was met with a delightful surprise. The food was not only good but also devoid of any unpleasant aftertaste associated with overused or burnt cooking oils. Each bite was a testament to the chef's skill and dedication to quality.
Despite the bustling crowd, the restaurant maintained impeccable cleanliness and orderliness. The tables were spotless, and the overall ambiance was inviting. It's rare to find such a balance between a busy atmosphere and a clean environment, but this restaurant managed it effortlessly. The staff seemed to work harmoniously, ensuring that every customer received prompt and attentive service.
The efficiency of the service was particularly commendable. Despite the restaurant's busyness, the waitstaff was quick and responsive. Our orders were taken with a genuine smile, and the food arrived promptly, hot and fresh. It's refreshing to experience such swift service without compromising the quality of the meal.
In essence, my visit to this restaurant was a delightful culinary adventure. The absence of the typical burnt oil taste, combined with the clean and bustling yet serene atmosphere, made it a memorable dining experience. It's evident that the restaurant takes great pride in maintaining high standards of both food quality and customer service.
