AVOID. And please read on, one of the most absurd customer service takes you'll hear....
Went with a large group (more than 25 of us). Tried to book from days before and their staff were brushing us off or simply incompetent at replying... Bad sign number 1 (don't you want the business??). Had to go in person to sort the booking and they said the kitchen would be closed, as it was a later time (fair... But again... Don't you want the business??!)
We get there, they duplicate some of our lanes, mess it up a bit and then we're finally bowling. There is ONE server at the bar (they knew we were coming) and service is obviously very slow.
When you thought it couldn't get worse... One of our party is pregnant and since Roxy decided not to provide food options for us, she brought something she could eat as we came straight from work. Whoever the manager on duty was, he was probably the most power-trippy, disrespectful person I've ever interacted with in the service industry. I sadly couldn't get his name as all that came at us (and specifically our pregnant friend) was a barrage of intense condescension warning us about bringing in our own food. Mind you, the only person in the whole group of over 25 who brought in something to eat was her and we all expected to be met with normal human decency and empathy but.. nope.
This person shouted at a pregnant woman repeatedly and simply was the most high on his toxic authority I've ever seen. No graciousness, no tact, straight up narcissism and disrespect. We decided to have a nice night anyway band and thought it would end there. .
But there's more... He apparently was so bruised in his ego that he decided to write into our place of work the next day and complain, saying he felt "intimidated" by our group (a group of artists (including a pregnant woman) and the kindest people ever đ)
The aggression was unidirectional and any backtracking they might now employ to try to brush this aside is nothing but more appalling management.
I hope whoever is in charge can step in and sort out this chaotic place because it was missteps at every turn. They know who this manager is and I hope they do the right thing.
I get we all have bad days but there's never an excuse to be outright condescending and antagonistic; just plain rude. Kindness is important and it's also just bad business to treat customers this way, I hope they'll smarten up but for now I'd say avoid at all costs.
Ok...
Read moreDarts was ok - not close to flight club as an experience. No hot drinks available, a shame when they open so early? Service was poor, ordered a soft drink and was given diet version when it wasnât wanted. Had to argue for a refund before weâd even started. Generally unfun.
To follow up - the passive aggressive response you see below, is exactly what it was like on the day. I did have to argue - the guy who went to get management to arrange the refund justified the inaccurate serving 3 times explaining the ordered item wasnât in the fridge. Understood - but itâs on your menu and I ordered it. Mistakes happen; I donât mind that - it was the disagreement with the barman to go and get you that was unpleasant. I understand diet provision to help people manage their sugar intake as you explain, but as I was forced to explain to the barman and now you - my son is on an 6 week EEN diet following a bowel disease diagnosis. For whatever reason, weâve been specifically told no diet drinks. Heâll be back on them after this 6 week period is up. Again, I donât care what you do and donât sell especially - but I ordered the non diet version thatâs is on your menu!!! I only wanted a refund when it wasnât supplied. What a crazy experience this has been.
So it wasnât an instant refund, I had an experience you didnât observe - and it was unpleasant. I absolutely was asked for feedback by the same barman I had the unpleasant interaction with - but didnât want to engage further after the fiasco with the diet/not diet conversation - and our group was wished a âgoodbyeâ which my wife said bye to - I didnât want to engage further with you, as I said - unfun to speak with staff who take your money, treat you with disrespect and then want you to explain why youâve had a bad time. This is what Google reviews is for. Donât try and get your feedback before I leave - make it so I donât have bad feedback.
With your response, youâve made something just generally poor value and unrepeatable into something where I would actively tell people not to visit you if asked.
Personally - I recommend the digital darts at Volcano falls in Castleford. Much...
Read moreAttended here to play shuffleboard for my birthday with a group of 8 women. We have been many times before and usually love it here. The first problem we found was that there was no sand on the table like usual and the venue had none left to do this for our whole game apparently- if youâve played shuffleboard before you will know this completely changes the board. It was also only 6:30 on a Saturday so Iâm confused how this happened. Half way through playing we were then approached by a female staff member who asked us to stop shouting. For further info, the venue is loud anyway with music, the bowling alleys & all the other games going on. The table next to us which was a group of men was also louder than us. Anyway, this was left & then at the end of our game no one came over to tell us we were finished but we were approached by an extremely rude and aggressive bouncer (Lisa) who bellowed at us asking us to leave because our game was over. I politely explained to Lisa no one had told us this & that is fine we werenât aware but we would go now. She then continued to stand there with really aggressive stature and attitude. We left straight away as asked and yet walking past her she was saying âdisgustingâ to every one of us. Iâm really disappointed in this service, so naturally tried to follow this up with management. They have decided to not respond to my emails. Clearly this is because they know theyâre at fault but as someone who frequently visited roxys before you have lost my custom and you should be ashamed that you let your staff...
