Unable to take a payment by card 😧 Later edit: perhaps the owner is mixing me up with someone else in their reply. I went to Big Fish alone, wanting one portion of fish and chips. Having specified what I wanted, it became apparent that card payments are not accepted. I confirmed that I had no ability nor desire to pay by another means, and so went elsewhere. I made no commitment to return with cash, and neither was any food wasted by the establishment. The owner might consider adding a notice on the front of the shop about payment methods, to avoid future misunderstandings, particularly for visitors to the town such as myself. Thank god I no longer have to wonder as Alex and Lilly have bravely answered the age old question: what if a sushi restaurant was also a chippy. Extremely happy to have found this unlikely yet superb establishment. Read morePopped in Big Fish for the first time last night, had not had fish and chips for a long time and had a real ’hankering’. Was not sure what to expect but wanted to give it a try. So glad I did, was very, very good. Chips were great but the fish was fantastic. Crispy batter, that was not too thick, and a great sized piece of haddock. Big pots of curry sauce and mushy peas!
