This is a great little restaurant tucked away in back streets of Lewes old town with a nice sunny outside dining space. We enjoyed the 'rapido' lunch for under £5 per person. Really tasty freshly made pizza and great value. The reason I've dropped the star rating is because of the poor service offered by the waitress on our return visit just over a week ago.. Unfortunately we were completely ignored - we weren't welcomed or offered a table when we arrived, and even when we had seated ourselves outside the waitress passed us several times to serve other people without acknowledging us or offering us a menu. She knew we were there but disappeared inside the restaurant and didn't come back. Not the 'rapido' lunch we'd been hoping for. After about 5 minutes of being ignored we gave up and left. We understand that serving staff are busy and can't always serve people straight away, but at least our presence should be acknowledged with a welcome and a menu, and if necessary, apologies for being kept waiting. It's a pity this lack of friendly courtesy by one person left a disappointed feeling about what is otherwise a great spot for lunch. I hope this feedback will have the desired effect so others can continue to enjoy this great...
Read moreThe Lamb in Lewes had been struggling for a while. Once a popular music venue, it had then started to stumble, going from one failed tenancy to another before closing for good at the beginning of the year. This small chain then moved in and has made inventive use of the space that the Lamb left behind. A mixture of wooden and formica topped tables line the walls, all at a safe distance from one another. There are an assortment of niknaks adorning the walls, together with the company's produce which is for sale. The food is described as being of the Neopolitan street variety, but the emphasis is definitely on pizza. These were some of the best I had tasted outside of Italy, in my opinion better than the Hearth when that was operating above the bus station. Reasonable prices with most pizzas are under a tenner. Worked out at about £20 a head including drinks, coffees and a tip and there is a flourishing take away service for those who would prefer to eat at home Go and...
Read moreWorst restaurant experience ever! This place is just a disappointment! I haveven't been here since covid as the dessert are terrible, the food is avarage, but what makes you not want to come back is the management! I had dinner with my elderly friend to make her company as she was feeling down and lonely and after we finished quickly our food, as we were hungry, the 3 waitresses came back to us 4 times to kick us out! Half of the tables were of course empty so it was not that they needed it, it have been the rudest service experience of my life! They basically forced us to pay quickly and leave, I think we didn't neither set there for a hour! Plus another time I went there they were closing at 9.15 as they said they were not busy!!!! I am not surprised if you send your clients away and if you gave a very bad experience! This is supposed to be an Italian restaurant? The first thing in a Italian restaurant is the good atmosphere and service! Go to have a good...
