Went here for a midweek dinner after seeing good reviews online. It wasn't too busy, we were able to get a table easily. The food tasted good overall but service could be better.
The portion sizes are generous and we were more than satisfied.
The bruschetta and garlic bread were made with soft, fluffy bread and had a good flavour.
I had the vegetarian pizza which was a decent size and had lots of toppings. The taste was great but the cheese and toppings slid off the pizza too easily so it was a bit hard to eat. My partner had the penne with chicken in wine sauce. The chicken tasted a bit odd so she left almost all of it in the bowl.
The salted caramel cheesecake and banoffee pie were excellent. All desserts were priced at £4.95 which is fair enough for the size and quality of the desserts.
We were then left waiting to ask for the bill and almost felt like we were being ignored while the two staff tried to seat, take orders and serve other people. A couple who came in after us had their meal served and bill paid quite quickly so we wondered why we were left to sit on an empty table for quite a while.
When we did eventually pay, the server made it rather awkward when it came to adding a tip on the card reader. Usually the customers are given the reader to choose the option to add the tip but the server kept the reader to themselves and asked if I wanted to add a tip. Not a massive issue but definitely awkward since our long wait to pay didn't lend itself to an automatic tip.
Another small thing - others were given mints with their bill but we didn't, not sure why but I found...
Read moreHiden Gem! Italian owned, authentic Italian restaurant, that has a delicious selection of home made Italian classics and accommodates for veggies and vegans. We recently visited Seford to see family on a Sunday and decided to visit Gino's for lunch. We were made to feel very welcome and looked after attentively by the owner Riccardo. We had a selection of starters, classic Bruchetta, soup of the day which was tomato and basil accompanied by fresh bread and pate with salad. We then had the most succulent steak with vegetables and potatoes which was 10/10 and a beautiful mushroom tagliatelle with a rich but not heavy garlic and truffle cream source followed by Tiramisu, creme brulle and a apple and custard tart. They also have a lovely selection of wine, and we had a bottle of their primativo which is an Italian wine fruity and light. We followed our deserts with coffee, expresso, americano and latte. The portion sizes were good value for money. We finished with a shot of limoncello and a after dinner chocolate mint. It's easily one of the best Italian restaurants we have been to outside of London and we look forward to...
Read moreVisited a few weeks ago for an early Saturday evening booking with our family (including a 6 and 3 year old) and were escorted to the back room of the restaurant, where we sat alone for the duration of our meal.
The food was ok however the pizza wasn't great compared to other local offerings (e.g. not fresh pizza base) though appreciate that they were looking for a pizza chef at time of attendance.
To be fair we were well attended by staff throughout the meal, although our coats that were taken were not returned and we needed to find these ourselves.
Upon leaving we saw the front room busy with customers (and there were spare tables). Our children are really well behaved/used to eating out and we keep them busy with activities between waiting for food - children should be encouraged to be well behaved in restaurants rather than exiled. This made us feel ostracised as a family, so unfortunately we'll unlikely...
