No wobbly tables here! This detached restaurant in Telscomebe Cliffs sits alongside the main road (A259) between Brighton and Eastbourne easily accessible by public bus, and has plenty free parking close by and if your lucky you could park in front of restaurant limit to 4 vehicles. It has had a complete makeover from its previous life as a Wimpy. The design and decor is neutral and tastefully, finished to a very high standard. There are 3 separate areas inside seating up to 64 guest. The tables and chairs all match (as they should) and reflect the high standard of decor overall. A further outdoor seating section accommodating I think around 36. I visited in an evening in March where. It was not in operation. Beautiful wood effect flooring blends in well with the modern recessed ceiling lights, a sound and cctv system is in use along with a server operated table service electronic tablet. Disappointed no jug of water on table this along with paper napkins which were replaced 3 times -wasteful (linen gives better impression and can be recycled) first impression let down. Attentive and professional service from servers. Disappointing service on wine bottles just left on table to self serve no tasting or pouring offered - wine and beer reasonably priced and good quality. The cold platter was sufficient portions and accompanied with warm bread(nans). The hot platter was also plentiful tasty and well presented let down somewhat with “cold” plates to eat from. Very nice side salad. Dessert selection a little lacking in choice - no Turkish Delight! - no Turkish coffee. I must admit I was hard pushed to fit in a dessert after all the food, but managed a baclava (nice). The rest rooms- modern bright clean - 1 male 1 female room. All tiled floor and wall to a high standard. It has an awkward hand drying setup, you have to go to hallway with wet dripping hands to use electric hand dryer I could not find any paper towels in male toilet. The smokers are not well catered for no ash trays in front of property where you have to go to smoke! A small bar area with stool which is opposite a checkin desk. Nice to have double full glass doors on entrance to help maintain comfortable temperature. I cannot comment on all the food on offer only what my party of 6 ordered no complaints only compliments. I would like to visit again when the outdoor area is operating. I very much enjoyed our visit and the attention to detail on the choice of the fixtures and fittings with one exception the plastic plants. They offer takeaway contains for food not consumed. As of March 30th 2024. The restaurant website kappadokya.co.uk needs...
Read moreWe were tempted to try Kappadokya as we are regular visitors to Turkey (or were until covid stopped us) and wanted a slice of Turkish food again. We were not disappointed! The food was authentic, delicious, well presented, hot and were generous portion sizes. I had humus with lamb accompanied with home made bread my husband had the borek rolls. There was a LOT of humus, so much so our server offered to box up what we couldn't eat, how could we refuse, it was so delicious. The borek rolls were exactly as we've had countless times in Turkey. I went on to have the lamb casserole which is served with bulgar rice, in Turkey we know it as guvec, served on a hot skillet so it stays hot to the last bite. My husband chose fillet steak with a diane sauce with chips, a huge field mushroom asparagus and tomatoes. The fillet steak was huge ! I sampled a small bite, absolutely gorgeous, soft and full of flavour. We chose Turkish beer, Efes, and wine, Yakut, if we closed our eyes we could have been in our favourite restaurant in Turkey 😌 all in all an excellent first visit to Kappadokya. A special mention to the chef for a wonderful meal and to the serving staff, the service was impeccable. This will certainly not be our last visit, we are already planning to return very soon with friends and family. Wholly recommended. Well done...
Read moreThird visit here and boy has it gone down! In May we had set meal for 4 and far too much to eat. Yesterday we were served our main before starter as they had been given to wrong table so served our main anyway as they 'didn't want to waste food'. When they brought starter in was just plate of dips with no bread-told that was extra! Don't know how we were meant eat them. In May we had much more selection on the starters ie calamari. Sausages cheese straws, falafel, vine leaves and chicken and lamb kebab on the main. This time only one lamb kebab on main. Price has increased by 20% and quantity of food only 2 thirds of previous. Also I informed the waitress Im allergic to peppers but were served them in three seperate items. Didn't have this problem before and they were able to meet my dietry requirements with no problem and we had an amazing meal. So disappointed this time and at end when we told waitress the how disappointed we were all she said was she hadn't charged service charge! Feel this was total waste of money. Won't be going back...
