The George IV Lichfield — Restaurant in Lichfield

We visited this pub last night atmosphere at the time was great! But it soon turned quite wrong quite quickly! My friend ended up being assaulted on the dance floor by a bloke! She ended up getting dragged around and thrown to grown by punches from him! The bouncers were nowhere to be seen!! And when they finally arrived they didn’t care of my friends welfare what so ever! Infact they kicked us all out and treated us like criminals when she was the victim of a serious assault! When asking to speak too the manager the manager showed no acknowledgment and didn’t want too even speak too either of us! Nobody showed any care towards my friend! Just threw us out! The bouncers didn’t care when we was trying too tell them of what happened!! Just said you need to leave!! We had to call the police ourselves as this pub didn’t want too!! Why is that?! Used to love coming here when I came over to Lichfield however last night (15/03/25) I had a different experience. I am a 22 year old female and I was pushed to the floor and punched across the face by a grown man on the dance-floor, the man was escorted out and me and my friends was also kicked out after we did nothing wrong. I asked to speak to the manager and got told no, not once did a bouncer ask me if I was okay whilst we was waiting for the police (which we had to call ourselves) and when I was trying to explain what happened to the bouncer he was looking around everywhere not even listening. Refurbished a couple of years ago by Craft Union this is a great pub. The prices are very low and the beer is well looked after, the cheap prices attract a certain clientele but not as bad as some other pubs. There's a good selection of lagers, ciders, and spirits, but unfortunately only 2 cask ales. During the day there are times when the pub appears to resemble a crèche with unaccompanied kids sitting at tables and running around - maybe a sign of the times but annoying...
