Gastronomico — Restaurant in Lincoln

What great hidden gem this is. We came here yesterday early eve after looking on google maps for a nice place to eat after a few afternoon drinks with our friends . Rang and booked a table for 4 and the gent on the phone was very polite and accommodating. When we got there we were shown to our table and had a chat with the lovely lady host. Couldn’t believe it had been open 2 years and we had never been. Ordered our drinks and then food. We ordered starters, 2 of the chilli king prawns, a calamari and cheese croquettes. They came out and the portion’s were really good and piping hot.. not to mention delicious. For the mains we ordered moussaka, and the meat plater for 1 and our other couple ordered the platter for 2. When the mains came out I was a little jealous of the meat platters as they looked amazing , but then my moussaka arrived and it looked amazing and I can honestly say it was the best I’ve had ( it’s my go to dish when I’m in Greece or at a Greek restaurant in the uk). we all absolutely loved the food and were stuffed so no pudding for us this time but we will definitely be back to sample some more of the beautiful food they serve. Where do I start... This place is a little gem. I found it while searching for a place to eat that was close to The Stack as we were attending a concert there. It was a Sunday early evening and we were the only people there the whole time.... It was early Sunday as I said.... It's a lovely little family run restaurant, the food was amazing, the service was perfect. The feel was so personal. We had a lovely chat with the chef after and learned more about how he and his family came to have this restaurant, met his lovely family as the waitress had to unexpectedly take the night off so his wife was serving and was brilliant as were their young children who behaved impeccably. We initially ordered starters before choosing on a main meal but as the starters were so good we just ordered more starters. Perfect in every way. Really great food and helpful staff - our biggest mistake was that we initially ordered through Just Eat who turned out to be extremely unreliable and didn't care about their customers. After our food didn't arrive, we decided to call the restaurant to check what was going on and were told that the food was waiting on a Just Eat driver. The staff went above and beyond to try and resolve our delivery issue and were very apologetic despite not being at fault. Just Eat is awful and I feel sorry for the hardworking staff who have to deal with the additional stress caused by them. We were promptly called back by the restaurant and advised to cancel the order on Just Eat and re-order on Uber Eats instead. We had food from Gastronomico before and really cannot fault them.
