Topkapi Kitchen — Restaurant in Lincoln

Most unprofessional, cheap horrible greasy food ever , were not happy to help after sending a totally unacceptable box of grease and badly Burnt chicken all told it's just taken me 2.15 mins to get a correct refund , I called them up to see what they were willing to do and the poor lass juggling 2/3 phones at once left me on hold for 5mins n I ended up shouting hello anyone there ! Eventually she picked back up , we then had a 3 way conversation of the chef saying he'd get me another one out to Hykeham but would be at least another hr ! By this time I'm wishing it was the chef on the phone coz she didn't deserve to bear the brunt of their shocking food standards and even worse customer care ! Get this , as soon as I said no chance I'll have my money back thank you as that's over 2 hrs since I first rang plus I'd seen their handiwork all of a sudden he's saying he can have another pizza to me in 10 mins ! To Hykeham ! Proper lying to customers trying to mug me off for the sake of profit and they obviously don't care or appreciate people's trade , if it was me i would do whatever it took to make a genuine customer happy but oh no when the delivery driver eventually got back to me(nice guy btw still tipped him ) they had him come to my door with only £8 when I'd paid them £14 fair enough I had ordered a milkshake as well but I didn't need it as I had no food plus it was warm by this time so I had to get on the phone to them again just to get a refund on the shake you'd of thought they would at very least apologise and maybe offer the shake or even send the refund and a new pizza by way of compensating me for what is now 2 and a half hrs of my life wasted plus I've still not eaten ,!ggrr !!good job there was some distance between us as I would of gave them it both barrels if they treated me like that in person only put one star as it won't let you put 0- minus stars !! These poor reviews could so easily be for another restaurant. I made my first visit to Topkapi on Monday night after an epic gym session in search of protein. I'd read reviews that weren't inspiring but the shop looked clean and the fresh shish skewers were chilled and on display, an excellent sign.

My girlfriend and myself chose to eat in, and we were expecting the usual kebab shop "restaurant" service of being handed your kebab in a tray and someone pointing to a seat. Not so at Topkapi.

We gave our very specific orders to a chap who turned out to be the owner - the better half is ALWAYS specific, and it pays to listen - and we were instructed to sit down and that the food would be brought to us.

Everywhere was clean, our food was presented on proper plates, with fresh salad (not the wilted nastiness you so often receive in fast food). Sauces were brought when requested, as was an extra pita and wrap. It really did feel like restaurant service, and the people were courteous and keen to help. Not at any point did you feel like you were being an inconvenience to them.

The food was excellent, portions generous, and Turkish music passable. :)

We will definitely return. Oh, and even though we received table service and didn't pay till the end of our meal it didn't cost a penny more than take-away pricing.

after using topkapi for some time in recent months it has seriously gone down hill and tonight 31/01/2014 was the last straw. One garlic supreme double decker pizza and a wrap ordered, and we were told it would be delivered within the hour. 1 hour and 30 mins later (to cook a pizza) and it turned up. We opened the box and after the wait it turned out it wasn't a double decker, already annoyed we phoned up again to voice our complaint and we were at first told that the double decker just means more cheese then we were told the policy had change and it was no longer 2 pizzas but just two bits of dough stuck together for the extra money you have to pay, I then looked and it wasn't that either so I said I would take it to the shop to prove this and want a refund. The man on the phone (the owner) said to bring it down but he will not be refunding me what so ever. We decided to just eat it and it was vile, grease swimming on top and uncooked dough in the crust. I would recommend to just go to asda and buy one of their own ones for £4 rather than be charged £19 for something I wouldn't even feed my dog. Awful customer service and we will not be using them ever again. I will be going in to voice my opinion of them too as they cannot serve any more crap food tainting Lincoln...
