We were very disappointed when we visited this Toby Carvery. Neither of us get many evenings off, so it was a special treat to go out for a meal, but we were left wishing that we'd chosen somewhere else to eat! The potatoes, veg and Yorkshire puddings were all very dried up and the meat was fatty and tough. The server at the carvery was quite impatient and rude whilst the other staff were standing around the bar area chatting for most of the time that we were there. Unfortunately, the waitress who served us also had a body odour problem which was pretty off-putting whenever she came over to the table. Most of the desserts had run out which left us with a choice of two or three, none of which we really wanted. Then when we went to pay, we realised that we'd been overcharged so had to get the bill changed. All of this was topped off by the fact that at the end of our meal we happened to look around at the wall that our table was against and noticed that not only was there dried egg yolk smeared up the wall, but also the shelf was thick with dust and didn't look like it had been cleaned for at least a week! This made us think about how clean the kitchens were. Not a thought that you want going through your head after you've just eaten somewhere!

Ate here on a Monday afternoon with my infant daughter and was thoroughly disappointed by the entire experience from start to finish. We had to wait at the door to be seated for nearly 20 minutes before someone came along to show us to a table. The food was unappealing and tasteless. Included is a picture of 2 slices of roast beef (allegedly) that I received as part of the king size upgrade. It was so stringy and inedible that I didn’t even attempt to eat it. The carrots were undercooked, literally like crunching raw carrot sticks to the poins that my daughter choked because she was unable to swallow them. The roast potatoes were dry and tasteless and when asked for brown sauce, the waiter made it feel like it was a liberty. Definitely not a meal that was worth nearly £50. Disgraceful quality and would not return. The only positive part of the visit was a kind young female waitress (did not get her name but she had black hair and a ponytail) who offered to give my daughter a smaller cutlery set as no one else had bothered to offer it.

When we arrived, we waited for about 12 minutes for fresh food to be brought out. The waitor clearly needed to go home because he couldn't be bothered. The second waitor was very helpful. By the time we sat down with our food it was room temperature. My friends explained that they had brought me to have a nice British meal. The second waitor was the manager. He pulled out a chair and wanted to hear what my friends had to say, then offered to heat up their food or they would be allowed to get a fresh plate. They agreed to have him heat up their food. He asked if I wanted my food heated, but because I was probably not going to be allowed into the kitchen to see exactly what was happening, I said no. He took my meal off the price. Manager was nice, but if this happened where I'm from, it would have been very different.
