Amo Trattoria — Restaurant in Liverpool

We have been here when it was just a day time place which is always gorgeous my favourite breakfast halloumi tower. So we decided to try Amo Trattoria for an evening meal and we were not disappointed. We ordered the specials starter a king prawn in chilli and garlic, just heavenly and there was no peeling shells as it had been done so it was so easy to eat. As well as this we got the trio Brushetta who knew 3 ways of doing this classic would be so tasty and light. Then the mains i ordered the Lasagne which can be hit and miss but this was a hit just like mama used to make,just gorgeous. My partner ordered the mains special which was Tuna with capers in a lovely sauce packed with flavour with a side of chips,again another empty plate. I was full but couldn't resist the Calonni filled to the brim and a scoop of ice cream,just delightful. The ambiance was chilled and relaxing, staff friendly and informative. We will definitely come here again bringing friends and family to enjoy all Amo...

While the food was descent it wasn’t good enough to make up for the horrible service. Upon entering the restaurant, we asked for a table of 3, the waiter just pointed at a table not saying anything. Once seated the same waiter came to the table and just stood there not saying anything before finally saying “drinks”. His whole attitude made it feel like we were an inconvenience being there. The waitress that brought our food out only provided enough cutlery for two people even though there was three of us and one napkin. When we asked for more, again we were made to feel that we were an inconvenience. Only one of the employees smiled the entire time we were there. I would definitely advise anyone to give this a place a miss and go somewhere with better staff who want you...

Positives: The pancetta scallops risotto was INSANE. It melted in the mouth, was savoury and cooked to perfection. Staff incredible. Really welcoming and helpful. I asked for salads for takeaway for my night shift and they were very accommodating.

Negatives: From the Google reviews and pictures, it's not clear that this place serves breakfast throughout the day, and then switches to an Italian restaurant in the evening, but to their credit their menus make this clear. They fell short on their Burrata Bruschetta on the specials menu which was just a piece of toast with Burrata placed on top, with the tomatoes not finely shopped and barely seasoned, definitely needed balsamic vinegar.
