Been to the restaurant a few times before but today was total disappointment! We (just two of us) arrived and there were a few empty tables and the waiter came and told us that all the empty tables were fully booked, even though the restaurant has two floors. We have been here before when the restaurant was very busy and this never happened. We never complained before when the food took a long time to be served, since it’s good—but this experience was totally disappointing and not recommended at all. This restaurant does walk-ins as well as bookings and might be expected to be prepared for the Bank Holiday being busy.

Edit : this happened on 5th of May around 12noon, there were a few empty table at that time and the waiter came and asked if we have a booking, we said no as this is our 5th visit to the restaurant and he directly said its fully booked and asked us to come 3-4 hours later while we know that the restaurant has 2 floor seating arrangements. It is so unreasonable as on the restaurant website it doesn’t say “requires booking” plus its only 2 of us. Again when we visited the restaurant before, when its full, the Italian waiter just politely asked us to wait 15-20 minutes which its fine and we kist waited. It is so disappointing and even though the food was amazing, but the service makes me not want to visit your...

Needs to decide if its a bar or restaurant.. Came on a Tuesday eve and disappointing experience. Pros - Best aranchini I've ever had. incredible. Great beer from top rope on tap, good wine Cons - Incredibly short staffed - 1x foh for the top floor for the majority of the night. Kitchen also clearly busy (but tuesday night...) as 1.5 hours till our mains arrived. Had to open the wine ourselves as waitress didn't know how to use a corkscrew... Food order wrong - 2 of the 4 dishes were wrong (after a significant delay so opted not to replace them) 10 min delay between the 4 plates of pasta arriving so everything went cold Bill vastly wrong - was charged for 4x bottles of wine not 1. Music incredibly loud for a restaurant.

Was given a 10% discount off bill to account for the wrong and delayed dishes, but still a disappointing experience. Needs more staff and maybe a separation between bar and...

Had a long day so I made a very last minute decision not to cook a roast and to go for one instead - at 7.30pm ! Looking around for a Sunday roast dinner in a dog friendly restaurant meant there were a lot of options - and so pleased there weren’t - because it meant walking into Carlisi’s and getting to experience their Italian Sunday roast. Both my children had the roast dinner and I had the lasagne - feedback on the roast was that it was one of the nicest they have ever had despite the traditional yorkshire pudding not part of the Sunday roast - which was forgiven as it was Italian roast style. My lasagne was meaty and mega tasty - topped over with a couple of gorgeous deserts which we shared. Homemade tirimisu was delightful. All the staff were friendly welcoming and service was top notch. I did bring my dog also and the staff were very accommodating. Highly recommend - thank...

My friend and I visited Carlisi for the first time last Saturday. As we walked down Allerton Road, we couldn't help but notice how bustling the restaurant was. Outside it was brimming with customers enjoying their meals and drinks outside. The restaurant staff greeted us warmly and made us feel very welcome. The menu offered a wide variety of options at affordable and reasonable prices. And the food? It was absolutely delightful! We shared with a few small starters (the arancini was especially delicious), followed by a main pasta dish, and capped off our meal with some cannoli, which were possibly the best I've had outside of Italy. I can't recommend Carlisi enough!

Come for the food, come back for everything else. Alessio and his team have created an authentic, Mediterranean setting that transports it's customers from the rain and the cold to a Sicillian Summers day. They are the most attentive and friendly staff anyone could ask for, the food is incredible and the wine is beautiful too. Their passion oozes from every dish and it takes an almighty effort not to order everything the menu has to offer. A brilliant experience and I can't recommend them enough. Delicioso!!!
