Church Road Chippy — Local services in Liverpool

I'm local infact I live less than 15 metres from this chippy! The last time I ordered fish and chips on a Friday night was to show off to my Cornish ex army buddy! Who told me I had nothing to boast about as the fish was Pollock and not the COD id been charged for! 3mths later I ordered a pie and chips...the pie was hard crusty and the filling had shrunk due to being under a hot plate for god knows how many days!! Truly awful..but when I asked my neighbour they laughed and said... it's "PENNY LANE" by the time the tourists get back on that ridiculous Beatles bus.... it's too late to complain and as a local I would advise penny lane residents to steer clear of this...

I dont like to post alot of negative reviews but in this case I felt I had to. I havent been to this chippy in a long time, I remember it used to be fantastic...

Well I spent 16 quid on soggy fish, and chips that where full of black eyes. Me and my family pretty much left it all. The batter seemed undercooked and sloppy.

I live around the corner and went straight home, part of the problem was the chips was put ontop of the fish in the bag which made it sweat more. I noticed this when I got home.

On a positive note the Girl who served us was very polite and well mannered. Antonia her name...

Ordered chips x2 gave £10 note and female staff (blonde/grey haired female about 65 yrs old) gave me 30p change when I questioned her she said I only gave her £5!! I’d literally drawn £10 out the ATM prior to going in!! The Owner checked his CCTV and after 10 minutes I was proven right! and given my correct change! I wonder how many others they are scamming! DEMAND TO VIEW CCTV if they try this scam on you! Ey server what was it you said “these cameras are unbelievable”! Aaahhhhaa yer so unbelievable they proved you’re liars!!! Silly sausages! Oh the chips...
