We got a deliveroo from Lefteris having recently moved to the area, but I felt really disappointed with the food. We ordered lamb chops, mixed souvlaki, calamari, saganaki, and it all came with pitta breads, chips, and rice. I've given two stars because the mixed souvlaki was okay, the chicken was alright but the lamb was a bit dry. The rest of the food wasn't really great, it seemed really underseasoned (the meat, chips, and weirdly the calamari, which was also overcooked). The saganaki had batter on which I've never seen before in either the UK or Greece and I'm not really sure why you would do considering that it gets a lovely crispy coating from just being fried without batter.. the lamb chops were described as really tender but they were overcooked and underseasoned. The rice that came with it was really disappointing, it seemed like boil in the bag rice and it had small pieces of carrots and peas in it but they were really unrecognisable and over cooked. I only ate a forkful of the rice because it just wasn't pleasant. I don't know if we've just had a one off bad experience because the rest of the reviews seemed really good so we were expecting it to be nice. Just feeling really disappointed as we get a take away for a Friday night treat and spent around £45 on a meal that we ended up basically leaving the...
Read moreThis is, without question, the best Greek restaurant we ever visited. The food is delicious and beautifully prepared, the restaurant is inviting, and both the proprietor and his staff made us feel like family. We had the stifado and the patio-kleftiko. It’s impossible to say which was best—both were intensely flavorful with melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. The dolmades were fresh and tasty. Also, the proprietor’s wife makes the desserts, and she is an absolute genius at her art. It’s worth a trip to Liverpool just to visit Lefteris, and we already are looking forward to our next visit...
Read moreJust had a take away from this place and it was without doubt the worst batch of takeaway food I've ever eaten. The three prawns for 6.50 were off...a strange taste...they weren't eaten. The chicken ouzo had no ouzo and the chicken looked like it had been sitting in the fridge for a long time. The chicken also tasted weird...like it had been sitting in the fridge for a long time. The garlic bread was terrible...overcooked and like the frozen garlic bread from Iceland. Just terrible. The chips were far too big...if I wanted roast potatoes I would have asked for them....
