Booking advisable. Good gluten free range, lovely interior. Recommend!
I‘ve been here for brunch and the place really lives up to its name. It‘s spacious, lovely decorated and bright however cozy and service staff make you feel like at home. They are also very knowledgeable in regard to allergies and considerate in accommodating any dietary requirements. The gluten free menu has a good variety of dishes (brunch as well as mains, tapas or sides), however, as I am allergic to dairy as well the range was quite limited but I could make a change to my dish to suit my liking without any troubles. The food was very good although it did not quite meet all my expectations (I‘ve read quite a lot about this place so maybe I set my expectations quite high as well). I had the Cosy Club Breakfast (gf & df) and it came with a slice of one of the best gluten free breads I‘ve had in a long time! it seemed to be actual sourdough rather than a toastie (looked like wholemeal flour), it had a slightly softer middle and the crust was perfectly crisp. The poached egg was rather firm as well which I prefer as it‘s less messy to eat. However, the potato rosti, although texture was brilliant (potatoes were chopped rather than mashed), was quite dull and could‘ve had a bit more flavor. On the contrary, the baked beans were slightly too sweet, as if it was made with ketchup rather than tomato sauce. I wish the dish would‘ve had a bit more of the veggies, which were well seasoned and the mushroom had perfect texture. However, quality of the ingredients was very high, and although at first the dish made a small appearance it was very filling after all. It was arranged appealingly and served within reasonable time to be prepared freshly. Service staff is very considerate in regard to allergies and make you feel very welcome. The restrooms are clean and tidy, seating is spacious and even when the place got busier, acoustics are acceptable to have a conversation at a...
Read moreWe have a Cosy Club in Lincoln, which over recent times I've felt hasn't quite lived up to it's original fantastic start to life some 5 years ago, and I did wonder if it was just a one off. Having visited the Cosy Club in Liverpool today, I do wonder if it's a bit of a trend across some of the sites.
Firstly, much like the one in Lincoln, the venue and the atmosphere is stunning, the attention to detail and the setting of the art deco/art nouveau era is great.
The food is, good, it's presented well, the menu is a nice variation, just maybe slightly lacking a stand out factor dish by dish (but that's not really a criticism, as this is after all, a multi national restaurant chain who do a fantastic job of keeping so many restaurants running in this environment)
The bit that does just, make me feel a little underwhelmed, is the staff - The gentleman who greeted us and asked if we'd booked, pulled such a face when we said we hadn't, I was getting ready to turn back down the stairs and leave, as I was fully expecting him to say they were fully booked, such was his reaction - The truth was a quarter of the tables were in use at any time from us entering to leaving an hour and a bit later. It took a good 10 minutes for any member of staff to take either a drink or food order from us (we ended up doing both together, as we'd had ample time to decide what we wanted to eat), and overall there just seemed to be an attitude from the collective of "we don't really enjoy doing this"
Like I said above, this seems to be the case at our local Cosy Club, as well as at the one in Liverpool, and it really is such a shame, because they are great venues, offering more than your bog standard, run of the mill chain-run food.. but the staff are very much run...
Read more20 of us came to Cosy Club Liverpool over the weekend for a hen party dinner, and unfortunately, the experience was so poor it completely derailed the rest of our evening. The service was appalling from start to finish, despite the restaurant not even being that busy.
First, it took 40 minutes just to get our welcome drinks. Then we waited 1 hour and 30 minutes for our starters to arrive — and we were on the group party menu, which is a sharing platter, so there’s really no excuse for that kind of delay. Those should have been prepped before we even arrived. On top of that, the starters were cold.
We then waited another 40 minutes for our mains, which finally arrived around 9:10pm - over 2 hours after we arrived. The portions were tiny and the quality was poor. Several steaks weren’t cooked as ordered, and multiple people in our group had the buttermilk fried chicken with “green bean salad,” which turned out to be a few leaves and one green bean chopped into three pieces — genuinely shocking that anyone would have the audacity to even think it's acceptable to serve that.
To top it off, we were offered 4 bottles of “prosecco” as an apology but on closer inspection, they weren’t actually prosecco — just sparkling wine. A small but telling detail that sums up the whole experience.
It’s such a shame — this was supposed to be a special evening, and instead it was frustrating and exhausting experience. I would not recommend Cosy Club Liverpool for group bookings it seems they are not equipped to be able to...
