We took my mother in law to see The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel on Saturday night.

Staff were very helpful and friendly-spotting that lift access would be needed, we were ushered to the lift for our seats upstairs. We had a fairly good view of the stage, but could not see all of the play to the far right of the stage. It is an old theatre and as such the seats are not very roomy and you do not have much leg room, so if you have coats/bags with you, you will probably have them on your lap. I was relieved to have the intermission to get up and stretch my legs and get some air, as the theatre was extremely hot.

I purchased a can of coke and three pots of ice cream and it came to £16- to give you an idea of prices.

The play overall was good but parts of it could have been chopped out to keep it flowing more smoothly. Additionally it was hard to hear sometimes all of the dialogue, so I am not sure whether the cast were mic'ed up. My mother in law has a hearing aid and she was struggling a little. Theatre was easy to get to-we parked in the nearby Q park which we booked...

I visited the theatre for the first time last night to see Rocky Horror. The show was absolutely amazing I have not a bad word to say about it at all. The staff where friendly and polite, facilities where a little outdated but clean. My only gripe and what would definitely stop me visiting again was the seats, I feel it should be mentioned when booking about the size of the seats because as a plus size lady I was very embarrassed that I could not fit into the seat properly (circle area) and had to perch on the edge for the entire performance. Obviously I am aware that my size is my issue and had I have known the seats would not accommodate me I would never have purchased the tickets. I guess this is more a heads up for other plus sized or taller patrons because I wish I'd have...

Decent theatre in a really central location. Really easy to get to (It's a short walk from Lime St station, St.Johns car park and the Queen's Square bus terminus). We got tickets for an afternoon performance of A Christmas Carol and it was significantly cheaper than any of the other Xmas offerings from other theatres in the North West (£15 each). Having said that, you do get what you pay for, to some extent, the back couple of rows in the rear circle are benches, rather than individual seats, and are not particularly comfortable. Not sure about the kiosk prices generally, but we bought bottles of water, at £1 each, which seemed fairly reasonable, by theatre standards. Would definitely visit again, but may pay a bit more for a...

A nice traditional venue for theatrical performances. It's an impressive old building from the outside, and the auditorium is a classic 'proscenium arch'-type theatre. The seats are a bit uncomfortable, but there was a pile of cushions at the back of the auditorium which one assumes is for patrons to use. Good views from the stalls seats. The bar are toilets are downstairs. Some of the fixtures and fittings are looking a bit tired in places, e.g. peeling paintwork. On collecting my ticket in advance on the day, the box office staff upgraded me to a better seat, as there were some unsold seats, at no extra charge, which was a nice touch.

Came to see Keith Brymer-Jones & marj Saturday 20th May. First ever visit to Playhouse. Fantastic venue ( although thought by its reputation it was bigger) really great seats, great bar ( very reasonably priced) but pity nothing on draught. Show was fantastic wonderful intimate atmosphere which made you feel it was a personal performance in your front room. Staff brilliant. Will definitely be coming back.Merch really well priced which is very unusual.
