*Memorable food experience…Masala Mystery Indian Restaurant – Liverpool…Date:_ 12 Oct 2025..Overall rating..★★★★★

A cozy spot that brings authentic Kerala flavors to the heart of Liverpool – perfect for a weekend treat.😋😋😋😋

Ambience & service Warm & soft background music, very clean.Friendly staff, knowledgeable about the menu, quick refills.

Starter – must try..Chicken Cutlet & Coffee: Crispy cutlet paired with a bold, slightly sweet coffee – an unexpected but delightful combo. ★★★★★ must try. Chattichoru: authentic Kerala style taste ★★★★★ must try…Fish Masala: Fresh fish in a rich, aromatic tomato‑onion gravy; perfectly cooked and full of Kerala heat. ★★★★★ must try..Fish Polichath: authentic taste ★★★★ must try…Biriyani: Fragrant basmati, tender meat, and a gentle spice blend that lingered pleasantly. ★★★★★ Soft Poratha: Fluffy layers, buttery finish – ideal for soaking up the sauces. ★★★★★ Sharja Chocolate: Rich, velvet‑smooth chocolate with a hint of cardamom; a sweet finish…Mango Lassi*: Refreshingly sweet, creamy, and perfectly chilled. ★★★★★

Masala Mystery delivers authentic Kerala cuisine with a modern twist. The standout dishes are the Fish Masala and Sharja Chocolate – true crowd‑pleasers.😋😋😋 Note:-Normal price only

We’ve tried all Indian restaurants in Liverpool, but this was the most disappointing experience we’ve ever had. Definitely not worth the money.

We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. We ordered chicken lollipop, kizhi porotta with kappa and fish curry, and masala dosa. The chicken didn’t taste fresh at all. The kizhi porotta was filled mostly with onions and had only a few small pieces of chicken. The fish curry was the worst part, it had a strong fishy smell with scales still on it, and the taste was really unpleasant. The masala dosa was hard, and all the side dishes that came with it were watery and lacked flavour.

When we mentioned the fish issue to the person at the reception, he simply said they bought the fish from a shop. We left the fish curry uneaten and only took the kappa as takeaway to avoid wasting it, surprisingly, they even charged extra for the parcel despite the poor quality.

The quantity was very small, and none of the dishes tasted good....

This is a new restaurant that we've visited twice. The first time, the food was excellent, especially the dahi puri, which is a must-try. However, during our second visit, the dahi puri came with too much yogurt, and it wasn't as good. When I mentioned it to the staff, they informed me that they have two chefs, and the first time, the main chef prepared our food. It was really tasty.

I appreciated that they were open to feedback and promised to ensure the food quality next time. A big hats off to them for their willingness to improve their service! Additionally, the gentleman attending to us was exceptionally attentive and managed the customers well.

It's common for some restaurants to provide great food during their initial opening and then reduce the quantity and quality over time. I hope this resturant will maintain both the taste and quantity consistently. I wish this restaurant...

If you’re craving authentic Kerala flavors, this place is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, the aroma of freshly ground spices and coconut transports you straight to God’s Own Country. I tried the Kerala parotta with beef curry and the traditional fish pollichathu — both were outstanding. The parotta was flaky and soft, and the curry had that perfect balance of spice and richness. The meals are beautifully served on banana leaves, with every dish cooked to perfection — flavorful, comforting, and full of love. The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, and the staff are genuinely warm and attentive. You can tell they take pride in their food and culture. Whether you’re from Kerala or just exploring South Indian cuisine, this restaurant is a must-visit. You’ll leave with a happy heart and a full stomach! ❤️

Expensive, tiny portions and not worth the money. I walked passed and decided to support my local new take away place and get some take out I opted for ghee dosa and prawn mango Currys. When they handed the bag to me I felt it was very light concentrating I paid £18. ( that also surprised me as I looked at the menu and I worked it to be at least £4 that I got charged. But I thought it’s ok ! A new place needs business . While I was sat inside waiting it was very cold and not that clean. However I thought the food will be authentic. Well pic is attached this is what £18 gets you there, however the taste of the food was excellent . But wouldn’t go there again
