Royal Standard — Restaurant in Liverpool

This is first time I’ve visited this place, overall a pleasant experience. We was in a group of 6 with a 2 month old baby and had booked a table. On arrival the table was a decent size for 6 people didn’t feel too squashed and was able to get a pram next to it.

The atmosphere was as would be expected from a local pub, some of the staff in the venue didn’t look to be in the best of spirits but all the staff that we were served by were great.

The food was all served fast when it was ordered all came out correct with no issues. No pictures were taken of the mains. But everyone was happy and it was a good selection of dishes from the menu from small plates, steak, to burgers and salt & pepper chicken.

Desserts where nice but I wouldn’t go just for them, large and mini brownies where quite generic tasting, others at the table said that there was nice but nothing of the ordinary.

Overall I’d recommend it and visit it again, they do BLUE-LIGHT DISCOUNT so worth bearing...

I went in here with my family to watch the match and have something to eat on Sunday 11th just after 12 o’clock, this pub is usually great l love the pub and the staff are friendly, but on this occasion my wife ordered a lamb Roast and when it came out the meat was cold so my wife sent it back as she was sharing it with my 16 month old daughter, my wife went up to the bar with the food to send it back. They did replace it but this time my wife cut into the meat and it was hard not soft as lamb should be there was no check back to see if this one was ok my baby was hungry so she never sent this one back she give some of the veg to our baby and we feed her a few biscuits we had then we left. I just can’t understand why some kitchen staff care about the food they send out and some don’t. The food you send out to customers just be spot on at all times and the floor staff should be checking that it...

What a shame the standard of the previous staff has not carried on! I've been coming to the Royal Standard for many years but was so disappointed when I went with a party of ladies for birthday celebrations last Friday. It was cold in there and very understaffed. We'd booked for 14 and I'm sure others had booked. We were in first but some of party still waiting for meal after 90mins. One lady was thinking of going home before eating. Some of meals were cold. Others were fine. My meal was fine but I was berated by the waiter for moving some of plates which had sat there for over half an hour. Actually I thought I was helping because I could see he was short of staff.Apart from the poor barmaid, he was the only staff. The atmosphere was so different to previous visits.
