In the morning, around 7:30, I stood in a very long queue to get my iced brown sugar oat shaken espresso. The baristas behind the counter were clearly exhausted and stressed, which I don’t blame them for. But at such a busy time, how are they expected to function properly with only two people behind the counter? Where is management? Why hasn't appropriate action been taken? It's clear they need more staff at that time of day. The lack of support has a huge negative impact on the overall experience. My shaken espresso had barely any ice in it and didn't taste like it had any coffee - it simply tasted like brown sugar syrup with oat milk. I didn’t want to just "deal with it", a small cup of that coffee was £6.65 after all (which is also ridiculous, but that’s a different story). After a few sips, I got back in line to ask the barista to remake the drink. The gentleman was really lovely and kind, and even told me I didn’t need to rejoin the queue to ask for a remake. My second shaken espresso, this time with an extra shot, still only had about five ice cubes, plenty of milk, and plenty of syrup - but now with three shots. Both drinks were equally disappointing, just for different reasons. I don't blame the staff on shift, but the poor planning by management is definitely the issue. They were short-staffed, most likely almost out of ice, out of medium cups, and out of lids (which they had to fetch from the back very last second, I assume). The drink-making process was chaotic and clearly rushed - all because there isn’t a proper support system or enough people to function efficiently....
Read moreI came here on the 28th for my early morning flight to Ireland and was absolutely exhausted waking up so early I decided to go into this Starbucks, despite their long queue, this went down quite fast and I was able to order my drink in due time, the coffee was as expected of a Starbucks nothing glamorous but their usual expected niceness, unfortunately I was unable to have a relaxing morning due to a member of staff behind the bar, this woman who I believe was named Amy, I overheard this woman speaking to the young members of staff and when I tell you I was utterly disgusted at the tone and manner of how she was talking to them, she would not entertain anyone’s questions or concerns about any of their drinks, and the constant sighs between customers was truly upsetting, I’ve worked in customer service a long time ago and these types of staff who either act or are team leads or management ruin staffs mental health and not only on their behalf it also shows to customers and can effect how they feel, while I know this is more a personal feeling I truly spent a half of my day thinking about this woman and the poor staff subjected to her horrible attitude, I hope to never run into this woman again. The rest of the staff didn’t have much to say but I could clearly see they were doing their usual jobs as best as they can under such an...
