Went yesterday and food was fine and our waiter was fab the only thing that ruined it was the absolutely rude manager/front of house member of staff I was so shocked. Our waiter told the table next to us ‘go up when you’re ready’ and the front of house woman sent them all back to their table and shouts over the whole section to our waiter ‘did you send them to the line, did I say you could send them to the line no I didn’t!!!’ Then walks away to which the poor waiter profusely apologised after her as she was walking away and he was visibly shaky and anxious the rest of the time we were there. She literally shouted it the whole section of his tables could hear her and it was rude, uncalled for and no one deserves to be spoke to like that in work. He was clearly so embarrassed and belittled and I understand it’s chocker and everyone is stressed in the restaurant industry at the minute but he was working too and surely just as stressed you don’t speak to your staff members like that at all, if it was her place to take people up to the que for the carvery now and he has sent them up which is easily done when you’re so used to saying ‘just go up when you’re ready’ which they do in the carvery, it takes nothing to pull him to one side privately and say please remember in the future not to send anyone up as I have to do it now to make sure there aren’t too many people lined up, where he could have said oh sorry yeah I completely forgot and not been completely belittled in front of his customers. Bad management who doesn’t know how to speak to her staff with respect and instead speaks to them as if they’re children, felt so sly on him and made the rest of our meal so awkward cause he was clearly so embarrassed and shaky having just been screamed at infront of all his tables. Wasn’t just us either could hear the table behind us who she sent back talking about how rude she was and how awkward they felt. Literally takes nothing to be polite to customers and respectful to your staff no matter how stressed you are. Everything else was fine and our waiter was actually so attentive even after the incident but won’t be going back here for...
Read moreFirst three visits in 2023 were great. Great staff, great service and great carvery. My last two visits however have been nothing short of appalling. Obvious shortage of staff tonight but thankfully it wasn't busy. I dread to think of the chaos had it been busy. Waited for 5 minutes on arrival for someone to acknowledge we were stood looking like 3 lemons waiting to be seated in a half empty restaurant. Once seated, another 10 minutes of no service. We took ourselves off to fill our plates.... Of sub standard food. Watery (probably powdered mash potato), dry meats and NO GRAVY?? Waited a further 10 minutes for gravy. We'd pre-paid on a Wowcher deal, so waited a further 15 minutes to order desert. Overheard the table of 12 behind us complaining of waiting an hour to be served!! We ordered desert and guess what.... 20 minute wait to receive warm microwaved sticky toffee pudding minus the toffee. Went to the bar to pay (couldn't wait another 20 minutes to settle) . Then got grilled by the most miserable, unfriendly and least customer service focused female manager about what size plate my daughter had and how my daughter had received a large desert instead of a child's. We were never asked or advised about plate sizes, even tho we presented the voucher on arrival. All in all an absolute awful experience. Not once we're we apologised to. The manageress really does need to try a different industry. Customer facing service is definitely...
Read moreWent for breakfast a couple weeks ago- 3 adults and a child. Stood at front door for several minutes waiting to be seated. No one seemed to be working. Then a man materialised and told us to sit anywhere. Not been before so wasn’t sure of the process. Went to the bar after no one came over. Showed my special meal request card due to me having surgery I can’t eat more than 1oz of food (smaller than a baby). To which I was told it didn’t matter as I was an adult regardless. So paid adult price for an egg and tablespoon of beans. The breakfast buffet was all dry and old and no one was serving when we first went up. The plates were disgustingly dirty. To the point we took kids plates as these didn’t have as many food remnants on. When seated my autistic son had a melt down as the cutlery handed to us again was all filthy. Not sure if there was an issue with the dishwasher but it was gross. I asked for more due to them being dirty, not even so much as an apology. One of the kids went back for some more food only to find there was no bacon left and no one to ask for more. So we gave up at this point. Honestly it was the worst breakfast I’ve ever experienced. Wasn’t even cheap as drinks not included like most breakfast buffets. The food, the cleanliness, the service was all shocking....
