A tiny place, serving Ethiopian food. It was my first time to try this kind of cuisine and I was amazed by it.
Injera, which is a sourdough pancake, was absolutely amazing and that's just a bread component used to scoop the actual dish.
My favourite was red lentil stew, a very simple dish with an amazing seasoning that transformed it into something really special. Also, if you are like me and don't enjoy hot food, you'll be very happy that the hot components like chili sauces are served separately and can be mixed with the dish to your own taste and preference.
The owners were very friendly and informative, giving a lot of info about the food they served. Service was quick, despite the place being quite busy
Restaurant is tiny, just a few tables, I don't know if they take bookings but if coming in a group of four or more I'd recommend trying to book a table beforehand as it can fill up quickly.
Also, they don't serve alcoholic drinks but these can be bought next door if needed.
The place also has vegan in its name, which might discourage meat eaters, don't be afraid to try it. I'm not vegan and I had a really delicious and filling meal, didn't feel like I was missing anything.
Lovely place to visit and explore Ethiopian food, go and try it, you...
Read moreI recently dined at Addis Vegan Kitchen and had a really enjoyable experience. The staff were very friendly and provided great customer service, making me feel welcome and comfortable. The atmosphere was pleasant, and I appreciated the attention to detail in the restaurant's decor.
The food was fantastic - everything I tried was flavorful and delicious. As someone who follows a vegan and gluten-free diet, it can be a challenge to find restaurants that cater to my needs, but Addis Vegan Kitchen had plenty of options to choose from.
The delivery service was also excellent - my food arrived promptly and was still hot. I was impressed with the portion sizes and felt that the prices were reasonable for the quality of the food and service.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Addis Vegan Kitchen for anyone looking for delicious vegan and gluten-free food in a welcoming environment with great customer service. I look forward to...
Read moreFinding this place via old Kent road to east Street, was like some symbolic gesture. to me after going to the last residence of Haile Selassie,on Thursday (which is in Bath),with such a warm welcome ,from the personnel who keeps it going,I've never had the experience of eating Ethiopian food.... On entry to this place is like going to a museum ,of historical references relevant to the owner,Addis experience...not only embracing Haile Selassie, but other historical figures of people who practiced what they preached.
The only reason why I took off two stars was the food was served warm, and I much prefer it pipping hot, unlike the Gurkha restaurant I recently went to,I felt more welcome ,ounce offered a very nice table..
By the way for my tummy I found it a bit too much, but don't be afraid to ask for a take away container
Update. 6/11/22
They listened...they now ask people if they like the dish hot, since in Ethiopia it's normally a...
