If you are there for a few drinks and a quick meal, I would highly recommend the place, because the staff are super friendly and really nice. I just hope you don’t have to deal with the manager. But if you are booking a private event, definitely avoid. If things go wrong, the manager is not willing to help. ——————————————— I went to attend a private event, for my cousin’s 18th at Alice House. My cousin was really looking forward for her party.
As more people arrived, we started to notice, that we can hear people’s conversations, instead of Drake’s voice.
So the people who organised the event, went to speak with the manager who came down saying “sorry we put a noise limiter” which we then find out, that she couldn’t override (or didn’t know how too)
More people started coming, the quiet music made it hard to party. So we went to speak with the manager again.
Her tone changed, she became a lot more angry, for no reason, you are the manager, if we have a complaint, who do we go too, kitchen staff?!?
At this stage the manager mentions to us that the speakers were working the night before and they only stopped working on the day of the event! so now the limiter story is irrelevant and further to that, they already knew of the issue. Maybe they could’ve called us and let us know before hand so we could find a solution. Or maybe they could’ve brought someone to fix it.
The manager apparently felt overwhelmed by having 2 guys stand and talk to her. The manager was highly offensive and completely out of line, saying that we should not be shouting at her, when everyone was shouting, including her, because unlike our private room, the restaurant’s music was very loud. If you are thinking this is talking loudly, I suppose to shouting, you would be correct. She just wanted an excuse not to help us. She was clearly over her head and decided to take a very cheap move to get out of the situation because she did not know how to handle the situation.
did the manager offer us anything to make up for it? No. Did the business offer my cousins anything as a form of apology? No Did the speakers end up working? No Did the microphones for the karaoke machine work? No (that wasn’t an issue, thanks to very quiet speakers, we easily made our...

I would much rather to stay public as it is at least preposterous to claim I hurled expletives to your staff. Let me make myself clear. Your staff (waiters, waitresses and bartenders) tried their best for us to have a nice experience although the 'technology issues' made the night very challenging.
The manager on the other side was nothing but rude towards everyone from our group as well as my language skills in particular as already mentioned. She was sarcastic and incredibly offensive, whilst also telling us that "when I go out I spend my money and not looking to have free drinks" as if our goal was to go out and spend our little sister's 18th birthday party without paying. Totally unprofessional behavior... I would have expected at least an apology and not actually justifying your manager's rude behaviour by posting outright lies. Shame on you.
INITIAL COMMENTARY BELOW: Genuinely suboptimal experience. The manager was rude, arrogant and in over her head. She verbally abused us because we had the ‘audacity’ to complain about the fact that 2 out of the 2 microphones were not working for the karaoke whilst 3 out of 4 speakers were defective. To top things off, she refused to further discuss the matter with me due to the fact that my English was not perfect as I’m not a native speaker and she kept making mean offensive remarks towards my language skills. Xenophobic behaviors like these should not be tolerated...
