To be honest, Apna Punjab is the best restaurant I have ever tried. Its been more than 14years I am in this country. I tried many restaurant till now but Apna Punjab is the best. Their food was very tasty always.
I requested Mr Inder that I needed a buffet party at my house for my daughter’s 8th bday for 15 people. He amazed me and everyone who came for the party with the arrangements he made. He arranged a perfect amount of food, with buffet. Served it hot. Even though the restaurant is far from my house they brought the starter first and went all the back to get the mains leaving the time for my guests to finish the starter. The food was excellent. The starters were chicken 65, chicken momo, fish amristsari, lamb seekh kebab, panneer tikka dry and pappadam. Momo was my all time favourite. Fish Amristsari was amazing. I think everyone who visit the restaurant should try this. It was mouth watering( even if I think about it now). Chicken 65 my gosh it was very tasty too. The guests were all English so I was bit worried about the spice but they loved it. They said this is the best food they ever had. Seekh kebab not a single piece left. Everything was eaten.
For the mains, they provided naan bread, Hyderabadi kache ghost biriyani, Jinghsha Jalfrezi (prawn), aloo gobhi, fish curry, veg fried rice, salad, Everything was so tasty with lot of different flavours. Usually in other restaurants they almost use the same sauce for all the curries. But Apna Punjab is really for the flavours. Every item we ordered had different flavour with lots of aroma.
I highly recommend everyone to try Apna Punjab in southall. My heartful thanks to Mr. Inder who arranged my party food so well. I also like to thank the delivery person. He was so helpful. Their service is the best and their food is the best.
Pls don’t miss Apna Punjab if u ever visit southall. Hats off Apna Punjab for the service u provide. U r excellent....
Read moreI cannot comment about the food for this review as we never got to try any. That’s because we were turned away despite having a booking. Our friends had booked this restaurant as part of a wedding present day of fun. The booking was made a few weeks ago and it was all confirmed. When we arrived, we were informed that they had cancelled our booking. They had called our friend at 13:46 earlier that day which had come up as a missed call. They only tried once, did not leave a message or text but decided that it was then appropriate to cancel our booking as they ‘were very busy’. They did offer to fit us in for 1hr 15mins as they could rush our food out. We had not come all the way from Surbiton to be rushed through our meal so we left. Just to compound how terrible their business practice is, they then called (twice) and sent a text (of course!) an hour or so later saying they’d had a cancellation and offered us a table. We were, by then, already enjoying a fantastic meal at Madhu’s which is located back past Southall station. I must say, it did delight us that they missed out on a booking after such shoddy behaviour.
Edit:
I would like to respond to your reply. We did arrive late but it was at 5:40pm and not 6pm which was 10 mins late for our booking. You are patently lying as if we’d arrived at 6pm, you would not have offered us the table for 1hr and 15mins but only for an hr. You also stated to us at the time that you had cancelled our booking earlier in the day after calling us once at 1:46pm. This call had been missed my friend who had not noticed it especially as it had come up just as a phone number. I believe that you have been very disingenuous...
Read moreApna Punjab in Southall is an absolute gem for anyone craving authentic Punjabi food served with warmth and top-tier hospitality. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels welcoming — homely yet vibrant, just like a true Punjabi kitchen.
A special shoutout to their Chole Bhature – hands down one of the best I’ve had in London. The bhature were perfectly puffed and golden, and the chole were bursting with flavour, with just the right balance of spice and tang. It’s a dish that instantly takes you back to the streets of Amritsar.
The Veg Kofte were another highlight – rich, creamy, and beautifully spiced. The koftas were soft, melt-in-your-mouth, and the gravy was aromatic and comforting. You can tell it’s made with care and a love for traditional cooking.
Their Mixed Dhal is simple perfection – hearty, full of flavour, and just the right consistency. It’s that kind of soul food you could eat every day and still crave more.
Service was exceptional — friendly, fast, and attentive without being overbearing. The staff truly make you feel like a guest rather than just a customer.
Overall, Apna Punjab is more than just a restaurant — it’s an experience that combines taste, tradition, and genuine hospitality. Whether you’re local or just visiting Southall, this spot is a must-try. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy delicious vegetarian Punjabi cuisine with...
