I would never go to this place again.
Thanks for caring and asking what my issues were, unfortunately there are quite a number and I have to say our expectations of a enjoyable new years eve celebration were destroyed! It takes quite a lot for me go to the length of giving a negative review, especially to my countryman ,I would much rather report we had a great time and the food and service was excellent but i have to be honest,if only in the interest that you will take these comments on board to drive standards up. Firstly my sister,Sevil Rustem reserved a table for 6 of us.My second sister,Filiz, was running late and had not yet arrived .As we were hungry , we instructed a waiter to serve the meze's ahead of her arrival. This did not happen until several repeated instructions to several waiters! when the mezes did finally arrive,it was of very limited choice and poor quality and the bread was cold! The main course was even more disappointing ! my partner remarked that what very little lamb shish there was,a few pieces maybe , was raw inside! Filiz ,who by then had arrived, remarked the ribs were literally that ,bone with no meat .Myself i tried a bit of chicken which tasted rubbery and so i left it and tried a "sausage" type meat, which I regret as it caused me to awake 3 in the morning with severe heartburn! even though we hungry we left at least half of the meal ! Also,We made several requests/complaints to the waiters, who seemed to be running around like headless chickens,to reduce volume of the "music",I personally was finding it painful!I don't necessarily expect to like the music but i do expect to be able to to tolerate it and for something to be done when a whole group of us complains about its volume! nothing was done .The bill came £492 .I felt the objective of the evening from the perspective of the restaurant was to make maximum profit for the minimum of effort ,a short sighted view for any business. A very regrettable evening indeed and I would be interested in hearing how you intend to "make it up to...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I had business to attend to in Cockfosters and walked down the High Road and came across this delightful, classy, beautiful restaurant. On going in, we were greeted by a very helpful and pleasant waitress who took the time to explain the menu and we ordered Baked Aubergines with a gin and tonic drink and Grilled Chicken Wings with Grilled Vegetables, both dishes were tastfully presented, beautifully laid out and the food was simply delicious, plus the Sorbet Dessert the Raspberry one was simply wonderful and tasty. It was a real pleasure to sit there and eat this lovely food and the customer service was simply excellent and the manager and waitress could not do enough for us bearing in mind I have allergies to milk and egg. We will definitely go and eat and frequent this restaurant again. The upholstery and mosaics on the wall were simply breathtaking and gave a real touch of class and history to the place. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone who has a taste and penchant for comfortable surroundings, tasty food, excellent customer service and a lovely and beautifully decorated restaurant. Thank you again Steve and Katarzyna Windsor...
Read moreYou know what, this place is ok, pretty decent actually. I like Turkish food and the food here is nice. The menu is varied and everything was hot and fresh tasting. Six of us in our party (all seasoned foodies) and all very happy. The venue is pleasant and the chairs very comfortable. Music is a little too loud so conversation is difficult. Staff wise, they do their best, clearly nobody there is a professional restauranteur but I get that, and it's fine, I don't expect silver service in a Turkish restaurant, sorry I just don't. It's different in France and Italy where you train for years in hospitality. Most of these excellent Turkish restaurants are just first and 2nd generation immigrants trying their hand in the restaurant game and some (like here) do it quite well. I read another review here (the guy with the cake) and I have to say I don't agree with you. You asked for a cake and then you have a problem if they charge you for it, bizarre. Yes many restaurants will give you 'something' if you call ahead and say it's someone birthday. But the 'something' is left to the restaurant. You clearly asked for a cake and want it for...
