Arthur’s Pizza - a hidden gem truly in Twickenham, it’s pet friendly and overlooks the Green. We have gone past this place so many times and never imagined it to be so amazing until we experienced it for a dear friend’s 60th birthday celebration last year.
Earlier this month, I wanted to have a surprise celebration for my husband’s 50th milestone and the memories & experience from the previous celebration left me with no doubt to come back to Arthur’s Pizza. I booked an appointment to meet Antonia - the magician :) who organised the party perfectly on a short notice though faced some serious challenges 2 days prior to our party. I will not get into the details of the issue that she & the team faced but you can get them from Antonia when you visit this little cozy place for a great meal :)
Arthur’s 5 year celebration & Valentines Day being on February 14, same day as the actual birthday, I requested Antonia for the decorations to be put up a day prior for our party. She made it happen and that completely transformed the ambience - absolutely gorgeous with red & gold balloons and fresh flowers on the tables.
All the guests arrived before my husband and I since it was a surprise for him. Everything was set up perfectly - welcome drinks & small bites. Everyone absolutely loved the food - wood fired pizzas, pasta and the ambience. The staff was very friendly, efficient and super attentive to all guests ensuring everyone had a good time.
Antonia had the day off but due to the previous day challenges, she stayed on looking after everyone and that gave me the feeling that she took her work very seriously, just like it was her own and that let me also enjoy the party since I share my birthday with my husband ;)
I recommend Arthur’s Pizza to everyone for a delicious meal or for a great party. Thank you Antonia and the team for a memorable...
Read moreThis restaurant used to be one of my go-to spots for special occasions — classy atmosphere, great service, and an overall memorable experience. Sadly, that all changed under the new management.
From the moment we arrived, the service was appalling. I was handed a dirty glass, and when I politely asked for a clean one, not only was there no apology, but I was met with attitude like it was an inconvenience.
We had hoped to enjoy some cocktails, but the waiter, who clearly couldn’t be bothered, told us he could only make an Aperol Spritz — despite having all the ingredients to make others we asked for. No effort, no care, just pure laziness. Throughout the evening, we were repeatedly ignored, trying to get the waiter's attention felt like we were invisible.
When it came time to pay, I requested to remove the service charge due to how poor the service was. Instead of handling it professionally, the waiter stormed off, didn’t even check if the card payment went through, and didn’t offer a receipt.
Such a shame to see what used to be a lovely restaurant fall so far. With staff this careless and unprofessional, I won't be returning — and I certainly wouldn’t recommend it to anyone...

Today we tried to order two pizzas (not twenty) from Arthur’s. I want to start by saying we’ve been loyal customers for over a decade. We’ve had some slow service at times, but nothing major. We even hosted our daughter’s birthday party there. We were supporters.
Today was busy — fair enough. I ordered two pizzas (one was a Margherita — you can’t get simpler) and was told there’d be a 40-minute wait. Not ideal, but manageable. The kids were playing, so I agreed.
40 minutes go by. No pizzas. I ask about the order — I’m asked again what I ordered. I’m told it’ll be out in 10 minutes.
10 minutes pass. Then 15. Then 20. Still nothing.
At this point, I ask for a refund. I’m asked — for the third time — what I ordered. Eventually, after 1 hour and 20 minutes, the pizzas come out. One has green olives instead of black — apparently, they ran out. No real apology, barely a “sorry for the wait.”
After all these years, this was incredibly disappointing. I would have preferred a simple “we’re not taking orders right now” rather than being strung along like this.
Sadly, this visit has left such a bad taste that we won’t...
