Bakers + Baristas — Restaurant in London

We took our grandson into Bakers and Barista for lunch on the 16th May 2025. At the time of paying the cashier started using one card machine and then switched to another. The next day we noticed on our credit card app showed that we had been charged twice (2× £23.85), both the exact amount. As we were staying in a hotel local to this branch (we live 80 miles from Bexleyheath) we went in to discuss the issue. The manager ( Tauvin ?) did advise me that Tania had charged me twice but one payment was pending and would not go through. He wrote a scibbley not on the back of my receipt and said to come back if there were anproblems. We advised him we were not local and he reassured us the duplicate payment would not be taken. The next day our app showed that the payment had been taken twice, but we were now back home. We went through the tedious motions to contact our credit card supplier to dispute this duplicate payment. Initially we were refunded however on the 30th July 2023 we were advised Baker and Barister had disputed our claim (only supplying Mastercard with one reciept for one amount of £23.85. The store's phone is constantly engaged so I will now have to go through the process of claiming my money back again or paying double. I wonder what would have happened to me if I robbed Baker and Baristas of £23.85? Please be careful if you pay by card and check your statements. This experience has tainted my visit to what I thought was a good establishment.

Sorry a bad review Bexleyheath. Pop in today 13/10 i've got to say one of the worst customer service i've had to experienced. Ordered a latte got a tea. Ordered a jacket potato with cheese and got cheese&beans. Card got declined for some reason NO receipt for that,by law you have to give one. When it guy brought it over i said that not what i ordered he just look at me in a an amazement. Went to till had to argue to get right order. Got a 25p refund on beans lol.Eventually 20mins later my jacket potato arrives with cheese. Oh i've seen more cheese on a little cheese biscuit. I do have to say a very rude manager brought my food over to me and start to give every excuses possible why some many mistakes in one order. I did ask for a full refund he declined and said we not allowed to give refunds Hmmm but the manager give me 25p refund so making up own rules as they go along. To top it all of went to the loo a lady came out and said no loo paper left so ask a guy can you please refill the loo paper up . He went in and said there is some i said look again and he pulled one little piece of he looked at me and laugh and said i will get some more lol. Amazing experience. Was overwhelmed by excellent customer service by staff, above and beyond. So much choice of food and drink. Really good quality. Spent about 3 hours here. Ordered more food and drink because it was so delicious and I felt so relaxed. Able to bring children. Very clean throughout. toilet available, impressed with facilities. Beautiful foliage; The plants add so much to the atmosphere. Lovely lighting. So many different seating arrangements, very comfortable, seating available outside. Staff mentioned vegan sausage roll going to be available soon, looking forward to this. Definitely coming back. I plan to become a regular here, so I can do reading, listening to music, and art and writing on my laptop.
