I love Lithuanian food which is similar to Russian and Eastern European cuisine. It was a lovely experience at Bernelių Užeiga, Shepherd's Inn Beckton where you feel transported into Lithuania not only by the unique newspaper style menu but the royal decor and pictures all over the place. I found it similar to Mamuska which is Polish at Waterloo in terms of the menu there as well. Although food was good, the service and quality could have been better. For starters had the Varškės Sūris cheese which is a baked cheese. This was a brilliant start as the taste and texture of the cheese was amazing, the texture is similar to firm tofu with a bit of resistance spiced with herbs like oregano etc. It is so moreish that you keep going back for more. The only thing that was strange was the saucers given to us for use as sharing plates because it was identical the one I got for the tea. For mains, the Bulvinių Blynų Bokšas Su Varškės Padažu ir Lašiša (potato pancakes with salmon) was lush especially the potato pancakes which were soft and sticky with a strong potato taste. The salmon was ok but not as nice as the ones other people have posted on instagram because it contained dark grey edges which is cosmetically not nice. The dumplings Koldūnai Angelų Ašaros were the usual pork filling dumplings which were rather creamy and heavy. Last but not least, the bread ice cream Duonos Ledai which was an interesting finish with crispy black rye pieces. Strangely the plates were not cleared and dessert was served asap. It wasn't bad but it tasted like cheap ice cream at an...

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of dining at a delightful Lithuanian restaurant tucked away in Beckton, and it was an experience I'm eager to share. From the moment I stepped through the door, the ambience was warm and inviting, with tasteful decor that echoed the rich traditions of Lithuania.
The menu was an impressive showcase of Lithuanian cuisine, featuring both classic dishes and modern interpretations. What made the dining experience truly exceptional was our waiter, Dina. Her knowledge of Lithuanian culinary traditions shone as she expertly guided us through the menu. Dina's recommendations were flawless – each dish she suggested was better than the last, highlighting the unique flavors and ingredients typical of Lithuanian cooking.
The service was top-notch, with Dina ensuring our glasses were never empty and that each course arrived promptly. The food itself was a revelation. From the perfectly seasoned cepelinai (potato dumplings) to the hearty and flavorful šaltibarščiai (cold beet soup), every bite was a testament to the chef's expertise and the authenticity of the cuisine.
In conclusion, this Lithuanian restaurant in Beckton is a must-visit for anyone looking to explore the unique and delicious flavors of Lithuania. Read moreWont recommend at all! Been waiting for a food for 1,5 h and none of the waitresses made us aware or apologize for the long waiting time. Everyone got their food separate -one by one so while one person was eating others was just watching and waiting for their food to arrive.. One of our friends food was even cold... Also to compare to other Lithuanian bars and Restaurants in East London the prices are to pricey and dont mach the food quality at all... Music was too loud from the start we arrive( which is 7 pm) so you wont be able to have a conversation , we wasn't even siting at the main Bar /Restaurant area where the party was going on ... After dinner we asked to order desserts and waitress says that the kitchen already been closed a while ago so she haven't even noted us...
My friend ordered a pint of beer and he got doubled charged because 5 different staff members where serving us trough the night and taking orders which made it more confusing... Either way, none of us...
