DO NOT GO THERE WEEKENDS if you aim to have drinks only. My first review was: "Very cosy place. They serve coffee and matcha latte with all kinds of plant milk!" ... And then I went there again around noon on a Saturday. We just wanted to have drinks / coffee, no food and said it to the waiter. The waiter took the order, we got what we wanted and everything was ok...for 2 mins. Then we were asked 2-3 times if we want food, every time I said no, as I already had late breakfast and I'm on a restrictive diet anyway. And then another waiter came in and asked us again about food and then abruptly said "You should not be sitting here, inside", as apparently, this is only for people who order food. Although, I visited the place for coffees/matcha only before. Outside the temperature was 2C. We weren't even half-way our coffees, but had to leave with such explicit remark, which was also heard by others at neighbouring table. Asked for the bill...And waited...and waited... Felt unwelcomed, did not feel like drinking my matcha anymore, the guy who asked us to leave looked at us like intruders, but we couldn't leave waiting for the bill... Very unpleasant experience. I went to Bluebells a few times before, but will...
Read moreI had such a strange first experience at Bluebelles yesterday! I walked in and said hi to the Barista and she looked me in the eyes, sighed, and then walked straight out. I felt really shaken up by this situation!
I was excited to try a new cafe and went there in for a peaceful lunch and this just really impacted my whole visit. I noticed her crying outside later so it seems like something was happening in her life which I have compassion for and am sending her love and kindness, but I just felt my stomach drop when this happened! I know it wasn't my fault and I really have a heart for whatever she's going through, but the for rest of my time there (I stayed and ordered some food) whenever she was inside I felt quite uncomfortable and kind of scared.
The food was amazing (I had the Rainbow Toast and LOVED it!!!) and the other staff members were super friendly, but I don't know if I will go back because this situation was quite triggering for me! I would have appreciated some acknowledgement of the situation and I totally get that we all have things going on in our lives, I just felt really uncomfortable and quite unwelcome as a...
Read moreHad a really great weekend brunch experience here.
I turned up on my own with a distraught and starving toddler after failing to find a free spot in the first 4 places we tried. The staff helped me manoivire our too-large pushchair through to the back (which involved moving tables etc). They immediately bought out some cold food and a drink for the toddler while they cooked the hot stuff. At no point did the staff seem to care that we were such annoying customers (and luckily the people on the adjacent tables were very understanding too), and they were all very friendly and chatty, making us feel very welcome. They came to check on us regularly, and brought whatever we needed very quickly.
The children's menu was excellent and very cheap - the toddler had egg, toast and avocado, which he seemed to enjoy. I had the portabello mushroom on toast, which I would definitely recommend (it has cheese and mustard, sort of like a mushroom rarebit). The coffee was good too.
I really appreciated the combination of very efficient service and relaxed and friendly staff, it turned what I thought would be a stressful experience into a...
