Today was my second time at Bonjour, and both times the customer service was atrocious. The first time, the man at the till was quite rude whenever I asked for something, and became inexplicably hostile when I didn't know what a white Americano was (I had asked for an Americano). I paid, and left. Came back several days later (today). At the till was a man (same from days earlier, who mistreated me) and a woman, and this time there were a few customers in front of me. The woman kept making inappropriate remarks about the customers in Portuguese (which is also my first language) to the man working at the till, and complaining.
When it got to my turn, I asked something regarding the bourekas (they were incorrectly labelled and looked like spinach was running out when it was potatoes; not a big deal but the availability would determine how many I could buy) and the woman started saying inappropriate and vulgar things about me as well, as she went to pick up the bourekas I had asked for. She was extremely rude the whole time, as I was paying she continued to be rude and inappropriate. I then asked if the older man standing close by was the manager, I was told that he wasn't. I asked for the manager, and was told that there wasn't one. Then I was asked why I was asking for the manager, and I responded in Portuguese (so that they'd understand that I'd heard and understood what they were saying about the customers, myself included) that their rude behaviour was not acceptable. The man (not the older one) verbally abused me further, telling me how I deserved it, amongst other things.
Having now read the complaints written about these two workers, going as far as a year ago, it seems like Bonjour Bakery just doesn't care about the way they've been mistreating the customers, as the...
ย ย ย Read moreI have never met such rude staff in all my life. When I go in there, they look at me like I belong on the bottom of their shoe, and as if my being there is interrupting their day, very bizzare.. but I can accept them being rude to me, however, what I do not accept is the lady with short black hair and tortiouse shell glasses being horrible to my 8 year old niece. My niece wanted to go in alone to be a 'big girl' so she went into the shop and asked for bread to be sliced, I saw the woman literally roll her eyes, SNATCH the bread out of my nieces hands, stroll over to the bread slicing machine, stroll back push the bread into my nieces hands, said the price, put the card machine aggresivly into my nieces face whilst staring at her and then rolled her eyes and walked off again. My niece came out of the shop very upset and told me how rude the woman was, now she doesn't want to go into a shop alone again, so thanks a lot. What kind of person, who works in hospitality, is rude to a child? At least smile or be mildy friendly! Clearly the staff here have their own issues at home and bring that into work, I feel sorry for the owner because he/she is losing business. What a shame as I will never ever return to bonjour and I would discourage...
ย ย ย Read moreThe staff is so indifferent to you, treat you like air and give you the feeling that you're the least important person in the room, in fact you are even a nuisance for disturbing them from their own chatter among staff or checking their phone or whatever. I was sitting alone in the cafe and I asked if she could lower the volume and she answered that it was already low and that SHE wanted to listen as well and in the end didn't lower it. The basics of any service profession is that the customer's needs are more important than your own. If it doesn't suit you to be in a service profession, if you find customer's annoying you'd probably be better just doing manual labour around the place, which she was very busy doing. Won't be back at a place where customers are such a nuisance...
