I’m quite a fan of other Brickwood places but this one is a disappointment. Firstly, it’s very family unfriendly place because they don’t have high chairs for babies and there isn’t space for a buggy either. Secondly, half of the seating is outside in garden so staff is constantly running outside, the door often gets opened so there is almost constant draft happening. And I’m not talking about a bit of draft, but a a strong, cold draft bringing on chills even in woollen jumper! Thirdly, the place is crammed so whoever sits on the aisle side of table will not feel nice because there are lots of people brushing through... On positive side the food was delicious. The coffee itself was good but I had a large cappuccino which was almost bucket size, too milky and really tasted like latte. The milky drinks are much better in other branches

Food is nice but some menu items are really small for the price.. Coffee is very good but quite a small cup so I would need two cups and it makes it quite expensive... The place was empty but it took a lot of time for them to bring food, they forgot about the cake for a very long time and only after reminding a couple of times we got it. The banana bread with espresso butter is a bit expensive (£4.5) but really good! It is also nice that after they forgot the cake I got a new cup of hot coffee with it (since I told at the beginning that I want to drink coffee with the cake and my coffee was almost cold when they brought the cake), bonus for that. It is quite a cosy place, I liked the area outside a lot, kind of garden :)

I visited for brunch around lunchtime on a weekend. A short wait was expected, but it took quite a while before we were acknowledged, which was a bit confusing given there were several empty tables in sight (though perhaps they weren’t yet staffed). When we were eventually seated in the outdoor area at the back, it initially looked lovely and had a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, it turned out to be extremely loud and distracting, which really took away from the overall experience. On a positive note, the staff were great once we were being served, and the food was excellent - the menu is full of creative and tempting options. I’d love to return for the food alone, but sadly the setting made it hard to fully enjoy.

Poor + rude service.

Just been in for lunch. Ordered a coffee when I arrived and food a few minutes later. My food arrived before the coffee arrived AND they aggressively placed it on a smaller table adjacent asking me to move (I said OK but in my head was thinking FU). This was so they could seat a larger group on the table I had been given. I almost (and should have) walked out at this point.

Whilst this was going on I had asked two staff members for the WiFi password (both twice) to no avail as I had planned to do some work before my partner arrived. The coffee arrived after I had finished eating - with no access to the internet I drank the coffee and texted my partner we meet elsewhere.

Looking around me I was not the only one who was frustrated with your rude chaotic lunch service. I would recommend you think about slowing the rate at which you seat people so you can serve them in a more organised and professional manner (indeed it was hilarious to me that you made me move so you could cram more people in yet could not serve the existing folks). You also need to train the two staff members who were providing table service as they did not seem to give to hoots about your customers.

I wasn't in a hurry and you missed the opportunity to make lunch for the person who was meeting me along with additional coffee and cakes! I spent £16 with you and then met my partner around the corner and spent an additional £40 elsewhere.

Brickwood garden is normally a great calm place to retreat to in Clapham however just now it is being run like a mad house, avoid this place for the time being as there are many many...

Great spot. We had a table of two and whilst there was a minor wait we were overall seated pretty quickly. It’s tight space throughout so keep that in mind. It’s also (small) dog-friendly so glad I brought my senior chihuahua to chill out.

I got the prana masala chai latte with cashew and coconut milk to start. Honestly it was only ok. Not the most flavorful although lovely to look at. I always find chai without dairy milk is just never as good, sadly.

The waiter got my order wrong- I ordered the Kumara rather than the corn fritters- but another staff member graciously took the plate away (although the fritters looked temptingly delicious!) As there was quite a long wait for the replacement, he offered a drink on the house so I got the antioxidant revive. It was bright pink, sweet and tasty. Once my dish arrived I was thrilled how good it was: a very generous arrangement of sweet potato/ feta and pumpkin seeds all tasted wonderful. I cleaned my plate.

My friend got the avo bread as vegan so just as mashed avo and bread, and a matcha latte.

Service otherwise was very good.

I also got the vegan wrap for takeaway. I had it for lunch the next day and wow it was great! Really tasty mash of lentils and sweet potato and...

Not impressed, I visited with a friend because we wanted to catch up and ordered a coffee, tea, slice of cake and a sourdough sandwich which surprisingly came to over £17.00. I don't focus on cost in most cases but over £5 for a slice of fruit cake with some flavoured butter seemed excessive. Not to judge to soon we waited expectantly in the hope of a treat but alas it was quite an anti climax. The drinks arrived after 5 minutes and I received my pot of tea without a cup! Waiting patiently I thought the server must have gone off to get it. It was however completely forgotten. When the food came which took about 15 minutes it was disappointing the sour dough pulled pork sandwich was tasteless and mushy and I could not finish it. This is just another shabby coffee shop thrown together with tatty furniture and scaffold boards masquerading as an artisan coffee shop as an excuse to charge high prices and jump on the small independent bandwagon. The coffee was good but a coffee shop is not just a Marzocco coffee machine and a...
