PLEASE READ CAREFULLY- on the 11th is November me and my 2 friends went to Joe before going to the cinema. We sat inside on the high stools at the bar. We paid each by card. The till is located right by the window. While we were eating 2 kids jumped through the window and stole something which we couldn’t see what it was. 2 guys from the kitchen then run after the thieves. A lady which looked like a supervisor said out loud with a smile ‘oh wow this is exciting!’. Me and my friends were quite in shock because we were quite close to the action; the supervisor and the other members of the staff couldn’t care less of us. We asked few times what did they steal, no one cared to said it to us, they took everything as a joke in an extremely childish way. After several attempts to find out what has been stolen a guy told us that the thieves stole a huge bunch of card receipts which were kept BY THE WINDOW in a holder spike still kind of tool. My friend is a restaurant manager and informed us that with those they can actually use our cards. So we questioned the supervisor and she confirmed that the provider they use for their poss indeed print the long number of the cards in their receipts and SHE ALSO INFORMED US THAT THIS WAS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. That the exact same thing happened few days ago and that no customers complained anyway so they didn’t do anything and they don’t have cameras. She has an absolute ‘who cares’ kind of attitude. The 2 guys that worked in kitchen were still out there so me and my friend asked her to check on them. Her answer was ‘OH DONT WORRY THEY ARE ALGERIANS, THEY WILL BE OK’. I have blocked my card but guess what?! I have been victim of fraud because of your lack of professionalism and your totally disregard of my personal details. Those thieves used my card straight away and spend £80 of my money. Now JOE I demand the contact of your head office or the owner as this is no joke. I will take this further as there are laws that says clearly that you MUST protect my details. This is an absurd and I have to go through a painfully long process with my bank to get my money back. I will come back tomorrow and I demand to speak to someone on head office or the owner. You cannot trade this way and put in jeopardy our details this way!!! People that have been there today check your transactions and this wasn’t even the first time! So how don’t know how many people have been affected by this thanks to the way your...

We ordered a gluten free pizza through Uber Eats, as my partner is Celiac. We were sent a normal (non GF) pizza. Luckily it was pretty easy to tell that the dough was non GF when the pizza turned up. This is fine. We understand that mistakes happen. However, what was completely unacceptable was that when we called Joe Public to confirm, the woman on the end of the phone assured us that the pizza was indeed gluten free (she mentioned that she even dealt with the order). She sounded pretty uninterested in having any conversation, so in an attempt to communicate the seriousness, I mentioned that this could be potentially dangerous if they mixed up the orders (as my partner reacts very badly to gluten) so to please double check. She again just unconvincingly assured us that it was gluten free. Not convinced, we ordered the same GF pizza again to compare. The second order arrived and unsurprisingly was very different to the first (clearly gluten free dough).

Dietary requirements could have pretty severe consequences if you get it wrong. Mixing up and order is one thing, but blatantly proving false confirmation and shrugging it off is BS. This isn’t about providing refunds, it’s about...

Unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience here. The website states "California Style: It’s all about the toppings served on a tasty sourdough base. California style pizza uses more toppings..."

However, my meat lover pizza was completely lacking in toppings. This pizza is supposed to come with beef, sausage, bacon, pepperoni, and caramelized onion. Unfortunately as you can see in the picture mine only came with beef and pepperoni (no sausage, bacon, or onion).

Also, my pizza got stuck on the pizza paddle as it was being taken out the oven and put on my plate, so I didn't get a full/complete slice -the end was left stuck to the paddle.

For £4.50 a slice, I think this is unacceptable. At the very least I should get one complete slice with at least one item of every topping advertised (especially as they claim to use "more toppings").

It was interesting to note that a lady in front of me had complained about her meat lover pizza and taken hers back to ask for a replacement (which she was also not happy with), which leads me to believe there is a problem with this pizza rather than mine was a one-off.

Sadly, I won't be...

Visited Joe Public on a sunny Sunday afternoon. It was busy but there was still space to share a table with others, and there seemed to be quite a quick turn around. Service was quick and easy and the pizza seemed to be fresh out of the oven. I tried the pepperoni pizza and it definitely reminded me of a North American pizza joint (which I think is great). It was greasy, and a bit spicy, the dough was thin, the crust was chunkier but still crispy. Overall, I wish I had checked this place out earlier. At 4£ a slice to sit by a park, it ticks most of the boxes.

Edit: I'm upgrading my review to 5 stars because yesterday some friends and I had a full 20 inch pizza and it was amazing. Perfect dough base rigidity but also soft inside, tasty sauce, the perfect amount of cheese and generous toppings. Really great. Decent tasty pizza slices, slightly smaller than a NY slice but bigger than normal UK pizzas. Crispy Base, stringy cheese with that classic 'stretch' and not too greasy. Nice location, especially for warm summer evenings. Recommended. Forget your average limp little pizzas, decent slices are the way to go.
