IMPORTANT: ALLERGEN WARNING.
When I placed my order today I stated that I had a nut allergy and asked the staff member to check the food i'd ordered.
She went away and then told me there were no nuts.
Then, when she brought my plate of food to the table, I asked AGAIN to confirm that she was sure there are no nuts.
A SECOND time, she told me 'no nuts'.
As I was eating, my partner noticed what we thought looked like almond flakes in the salad. Surely not, as I had checked twice.
I went back in to check again with a different staff member who asked the chef.
I was shocked and scared to be told that there WERE almonds all over the plate I had just been eating from.
As somebody who has been hospitalised because of an allergic reaction before, I emphasised the severity of this to staff: I could die.
But the staff remember responsible glared at me as though I was the problem and that i'd come to get her in trouble.
She began to argue with me multiple times, saying that I had only asked about the focaccia. This was untrue, I stated I had an allergy when I placed the ENTIRE ORDER.
Even if that had been true, It is completely irrelevant. It is common sense to check EVERYTHING that a customer will be eating if they state that they have an allergy.
Not only could I have died because of her negligence, she treated me rudely for bringing it up and tried to debate with me on semantics.
A lack of care in customer service, I can get over that.
The real problem is that it shows a complete lack of empathy for me as a person, who could have died...
Read moreThis place become worst and worst, the service is unbelievable bad, we are coming 3/4/5 times a week since a while maybe since the opening, this morning was the best, desperate by the rainy weather, we decided to go out for a breakfast before school. We arrived there at 7:56am and asked for our favorite egg & bacon muffin, as it wasn’t in the display, we asked one the girl the “manager” “could you please double check in the kitchen for us?” she replied “I have already checked it’s not ready” which it wasn’t very nice already but I insisted and she went (not very happy!) to have a look, she came back of course with some, feeling that I was more aware about the situation in this bakery than the staff. Then, after being served, we asked for some ketchup and the other girl came and literally she threw the bags of ketchup on the table, we were shocked and of course we reacted, we asked if it was a good way to serve guests. Then we escalated in a morning speech out of this world instead of a simple apologies! The “manager” interrupted me while I was explaining our feelings about what happened, she was arguing agressively, a joke! We were just expected a warm welcome, a good manner and a good service, in a place who wasn’t busy at all. Very...
Read moreHeya ! Frequent customer here, just wanted to let you know that I mentioned I had an intolerance but was still served the food with it and now I’m feeling the pain.
I asked if the eggs Benedict had any garlic chives spring onions onions or leeks (allium intolerance). They said no. I ate it and it definitely has it and now I’ve got a few hours ahead of me of feeling sick.
it’s ok to say they don’t know the ingredients and recommend something else or check with kitchen.
No one likes feeling sick especially if they took cautionary measures.
Lastly, it happens to be an important day so it makes things a bit extra sour.
Hope no other customer has to go through this especially if it can be prevented.
Thank you! 🙏🏼
Thank you for the kind response, no need for the comp, but very kind. Yeah not sure what element of the food it was… perhaps the salmon was smoked with garlic? No idea really. Tasted great, shame to have that intolerance. Went away 10hours after....
