Review of Cafe Chic
My experience at Cafe Chic was unfortunately far from satisfactory, even though we had booked our table in advance. The service I received during my visit was subpar, and I feel compelled to share my disappointment.
Despite making a reservation ahead of time, my party and I were kept waiting for over 40 minutes before our food arrived. This delay was completely unreasonable and left us feeling frustrated and hungry. While it is true that the restaurant was quite busy at the time, it does not excuse such a prolonged wait. As a customer who had made a reservation, I expected a reasonable waiting time that would have been commensurate with the restaurant's level of busyness.
Furthermore, the lack of attention to basic necessities was evident throughout our visit. We had to ask for utensils, which should have been set on the table before our arrival. It was surprising to have to request such a fundamental item, and it highlighted a lack of attention to detail on the part of the staff.
Additionally, we had to specifically request tap water, which should be a standard offering in any establishment. The fact that it was not automatically provided demonstrates a disregard for customer comfort and satisfaction. Basic amenities like utensils and water should not require prompting from patrons, especially considering the restaurant's busy state.
When our food finally arrived, the quality did not make up for the extensive wait. The dishes lacked the freshness and flavor that we had anticipated. The presentation was underwhelming, and some items were even lukewarm. It was evident that the food had been rushed, which further added to our disappointment.
In addition to the food and service issues, the overall atmosphere of the restaurant left much to be desired. The ambiance was lacking, with outdated decor and uncomfortable seating arrangements. The noise level was also quite high, making it difficult to hold a conversation without raising our voices.
To make matters worse, the staff seemed disinterested and inattentive throughout our meal. It was challenging to get their attention when we needed assistance or wanted to place an order. The lack of attentiveness only compounded the negative experience we had at Cafe Chic.
In conclusion, my visit to Cafe Chic, despite having made a reservation, was marred by the poor service, extensive wait time (even considering the restaurant's busy state), the need to request basic utensils and tap water, mediocre food quality, and lackluster atmosphere. I had hoped for a pleasant dining experience but was left disappointed and dissatisfied. I would caution others to consider these factors before choosing to dine...
Read moreFamily run cafe with a cosy, friendly atmosphere. Unusual Persian trinkets line the walls, and a magnificent chandelier taking pride of place. Rustic wood tables and bentwood chairs, although no sofas or armchairs. Peaceful classical Persian music in the background. Child friendly, welcomes buggies, has high chairs.
Excellent Persian specials (I had the aubergine, which was delicious). Particularly good baklava (I'm told Lebanese rather than Turkish) with big chunks of pistachio nut Fresh mint tea. Wide range of cold drinks including San Peligrino and pear juice and freshly made juices. Tea pig quality teas. Coffee and hot chocolate. Slightly "relaxed" service. Dog friendly, even with dog treats! Unfortunately poor disabled access. 1 substantial step to front entrance. Outdoor covered garden area. Very clean unisex toilet, no baby...
Read moreWe were served a rotten egg which my 1 year old son took 2 bites of and left thankfully. I realized this at the end of the meal (we hadn’t eaten most of the food on the plate). When we reported the issue, management just said they ate from the same eggs and were fine and proceeded to charge us for the meal although they acknowledged that the eggs we were served were rotten. Very disappointed in this service. This is what makes the difference between keeping your long term client and loosing them when a mistake happens. Won’t be back again. Thankfully my son didnt get sick or this would have been more than just...
