Cafe East in Surrey Quay has been my most favourite one in South East area. They have moved to black heath recently. The food quality is same which is amazing though the price is a bit higher, but i think it is worth with their food quality. They also have new dishes in the menu as well. That’s great. However, their staff service is terrible compare to these staffs in Surrey Quay. They have less paid attention to us even thought they have 1 aunty was doing a bar, and 3 staffs on floor while the restaurant was very quiet. I went there 3 times since they have opened the restaurant in. Black Health. 1st time i went there, i called for a bill and have to wait for 15 minutes. 2nd time i asked for orginal fish sauce, then a guy gave me a sweet & sour fish sauce that they usually serve for spring roll. I did asked twice as they gave me the wrong one, and the guy said they finished original fish sauce. It is nonsense for me when u said a Vietnamese restaurant does not have “original fish sauce”. Then my bf asked the aunty in the bar for it, she went down and took it for us. Thanks aunty. The 3rd time, i went there and asked for take away, they gave me some take away boxes but no carry bags. I wonder how could i bring 4,5 containers without a carry bag. I knew there is always no service charge included to the bill, but it is a reason for service going down now??? I dont mind paying service charge, it just made me down while enjoying good foods.

Zero social distancing or covid measures in place. Tables are stacked next to each other and filled to max capacity. From a food perspective, I used to absolutely adore this place. The pho broth is arguably one of the best in London and the spicy noodles are amazing. But on a recent trip it became apparent that they don't really care about the safety of their guests. Tables were packed to the brim with no protective screens or sufficient space between them (there were the same amount of tables laid out and had guests sat on them as before covid). We felt very on edge the whole time as people coughed away in the table opposite us as tables were only 50 cm apart. We ended up not finishing our food to just pay and leave as the whole experience was uncomfortable. There was a really stuffy smell in the whole room as well that meant the dining area was very poorly ventilated. To add to this, the waiters also often didn't wear their masks properly. It is a real shame as I seriously love their food. But I don't think we'll be coming back until after the pandemic.

I've been coming here for as long as I can remember. It's one of, if not, the best Vietnamese places in SE London. Convenient to get to with ample parking, there's no excuse to not come here. The food is more home made style than the trending street food, but it's comforting and they haven't changed their menu at all, so they focus on their main dishes to make sure each dish is as good as ever. Don't expect great service here (as with most Asian places, customer service is not their strong point). There is a ramp, but also a step before it and the ramp is quite steep so wheelchair users will need a bit of help. However, there is another entrance around the other side which is accessible, but you need to let staff know so it's just easier to go down the ramp. Wheelchair access: There are no accessible toilets either, but the bowling alley across the car park has one if required. It's local and familiar with good food, so I'll be coming here for years to come.

I have been a big fan of this restraurant since 2016. I finally made my way to it after the move to Blackheath Village. The new restaurant looked nice but.. 1. Price for the main increased by 2-3 pounds. I paid £15 for pho and £15.5 for a salad noodle dish. You can find other good pho resturants that charge you a little less but are located in the central london area and are therefore more accessible. 2. Staff training is needed. One staff member got my order wrong. Food was replaced soon but no apology was given. There were only two other people in the entire restaurant, so no excuse really. I sat around the entrance where staff members appear to stand. I felt uncomfortable as they were standing right next to me and watching my table while I was eating. 3. Pho was a little sweeter than before. The meat in the vermicelli noodle dish was tough and lacked the smoky flavour it had before. This isn't as good as what was served in Surrey Quays. Disappointing.

+ The staffs were nice. + The restaurant was kept clean. + Very clean toilet + Portions were suitable for the prices. We ordered Pho Tai Chin, Bun Bo Hue, Com Suon, Cha Gio, and Vietnamese Coffee. Pho Tai Chin: 5/10 nothing special about it. The beef was good, and the thin cut helps the meat absorb the flavor. The broth was bland. Bun Bo Hue: 1/10 it was totally inauthentic flavor. I was so disappointed. Having to force myself to eat it. It's totally not the Bun Bo Hue flavor! Not recommend it. Com Suon: 7/10 the flavor of the meat wasn't a wow. However, it was edible. Rice was well cooked. Not too wet not to dry. Cha Gio: 8/10 This is the only thing that we like so far in this place. Would recommend. Vietnamese coffee: it was as strong as we expected. I find it too sweet for me. Would we come back here for Authentic Vietnamese Food? Definitely not.

The food is okay, but the table policy is ridiculous with staff incredibly unwilling to help. Don't plan to ever return. I arrived with one other person, sat down and ordered food. After a while 3 friends happened to arrive at the same place and the staff refused to let all 5 of us sit together at a table even though the restaurant was half empty, and there was an empty 6-seater table right next to us (it stayed empty even after we had left). So the 3 friends sat down at a 4-seater table next to our 2-seater table, and the staff refused to close the gap between our tables. Basically made us talk over this awkward gap for no apparent reason. (See photos) Oh and the staff forgot to bring us the plate of herbs and lemon for our pho, and kept bringing empty bowls to our table by mistake throughout.
