Great simple home style food and warm welcoming atmosphere. The service is friendly, prompt and attentive. Everything very nicely cooked and prepared. Comfortable seating and a spotless toilet. The prices are incredibly reasonable. Its a place where old friends and close family go to meet, eat and talk. Cartons is a rare gem in this slick, overpriced eating out elsewhere around us. Bonus: no alcohol! Cartons promotes community and love that emanates from its owner Ben and pemeates to all who walk through Carton's door. Ben knows and speaks love to his food, staff and guests. We need to make sure we all tell Ben how much we value Ben and his contribution to our Stanmore community. Many of his most appreciative guests do not use social media so I am speaking up here on their behalf! Did you know that Ben will also cater for your afternoon tea events? Recently Ben provided a wonderful sandwich and cake spread for my fathers 96th birthday and my parents platinum wedding celebration tea, for 20 guests two days in a row. I had a mixed experience at Cartons. The food itself was exceptional, with a wide range of delicious and fresh options including pasta, sandwiches, and burgers. The space is limited as it’s a sweet cafe so go early to grab a table. The culinary selection definitely impressed me.

However, I was disappointed with the behavior of the staff members. When trying to place an order we were told by the other 2 servers that they aren’t allowed to take orders and it can only be the manager. This meant we had to keep waiting to place our order. One in particular the manager (blonde) appeared disinterested and seemed to lack enthusiasm for her work. She was very dismissive and condescending at times. Even if a restaurant is full and you are overwhelmed it’s your duty to still be kind. Her attitude came across as rude and disrespectful, which diminished the overall dining experience. There was delay in our order, she took long to come to our table.

It would be great if the management could address this issue and ensure that their staff members are more attentive and friendly towards customers. Do hire more staff to...

Hi everyone & sorry to change my review as I believe I been here for 2 years every Saturday to get a takeaway for lunch . I normally get a Full English breakfast it first started when I came here at £4.99 , then after time flew by price increased to £5.90 what is annoying but still carried on going but from today (Saturday 8th October 2022) price increased from £5.90 to £8.50 & that just put me off as £2.60 increase is too much . Its a real shame I have to change my review as I used to enjoy getting my lunch here & staff was very helpful & kind but due to the big price hike this too much for me & had to get something else for lunch . I know everywhere else they put the prices up but £2.60 increase on breakfast too much sorry. Sorry for my bad review but I wish you luck...
