Reading the reviews I am shocked based on my experience visiting this horrible restaurant. We Visited on a Friday evening at 10pm. Their advertised closing time was 12am.
Firstly the waiter forced us to sit in a location eventhough the restaurant was empty.
We ordered drinks but the waiter completely forgot to give us the drinks. There was another couple who walked in and after us and their drinks we given to them in quickly.. We had to ask twice. The waiter also did not give us any bread but remembered to give bread to the second couple.
We wanted to order wings without fries. They said it's not an option, we must buy fries, we then decided not to get the wings and choose a lamchun instead. When our food arrived I was shocked to see that the waiter presented wings and chips and not the lamchun I ordered.
Finally the waiter said they are going to close in 10min after just serving our food. Despite another 1 hr left as advertised. They were literally walking around telling everyone to hurry up. One couple got angry and began to argue.
It's shocking this restaurant has so many positive reviews. Maybe the management has changed. The waiter was so rude and clearly did not want to be working.
Portions are very small.
I would avoid at all costs. Dreadful experience for a...
Read moreWe have been coming to Diaar for a year now and the food in this restaurant is amazing, it is the best authentic Turkish we have eaten thanks to the great, hard working hospitable chefs. Unfortunately, this experience has been ruined by the waiters, especially the Indian female waitress who has no customer service experience whatsoever, it is as if she is forced to work there and is very abrupt, rude and disrespectful in her answers. She was on her mobile instead. We always have to ask for the basics that are normally provided and even when we ask its like its such a hard task. Upon walking in the restaurant it is always empty yet they want us to sit in a specific place when we know its off peak times and will not be busy, yet let us sit on the big table anyway. We have been to several Turkish restaurants and This is not the normal service you would expect in a traditional Turkish restaurant and the owner should know who he employs as this ruins the reputation of the business. It is a shame really. Simple things like cleaning the table and asking if we would like some turkish tea/sweet after our food like they do in other restaurants does not apply here, instead you have to get up and ask for...
Read moreWent to this restaurant with my family. I orders a Kofte which is like a mince meat burger.
When I opened it it was pink on the inside. I asked for it to be cooked better and effectively bought it back the same.
I didn’t even eat a single bite of this, or anything else on the plate.
They said no matter how much they cook it, it will be pink inside. So I asked for it to be swapped for a chicken as I am pregnant and don’t want to eat it.
I had 3 waitress and the chef to come and argue me, saying that well I need to take it home because I will be charged. I said I haven’t eaten it and returned it ASAP, so i won’t pay for it. They asked me what their meant to do with it.
Another waitress said why did I order it if I was unhappy with it? As if I knew it would be pink inside.
Then the chef came and said it edible even if the colour is like this. I said I am pregnant and not happy having a kofte pink inside. He started arguing saying well what is he meant to do with it.
Eventually they changed it to chicken cube and didn’t charge me for the kofte ( after arguing with 3 waitress...
