We went there last night and had a booking but waited to be seated for 20 minutes past our booking time to wait for a table to be cleared. When we were seated we didn't have connection so the manager gave us the WiFi and she was friendly. We had drinks and took quite a while so we ordered 3 cocktails each which the waitress said "are these all for you?". The two tables next next us went out for a cigarette without leaving anything behind and we wanted to go out for a cigarette and asked the waitress if this was OK and to not take our drinks and she said yes that's fine. The manager came over and said we had to leave something as she thought we were going to run away. I said neither of us were going to leave our handbags but we had full drinks at the table and she just shrugged her shoulders. I said if we were going to run we wouldn't have asked if it was OK. My friend said she would leave her bag if she watched it, but she didn't want to accept responsibility. So we went outside but the waitress stood there and watched us the whole time. When paying the bill I asked why it was not a big deal for the other tables to go outside and the manager preceded to shout at me saying I don't understand what it's like, people run away all the time etc. I said I understand that and I do understand I have worked in hospitality. And she continued to shout, to the point where she left, the lady from the table next to use came over to check I was OK. We paid the bill. Then the manager then bought us 2 free shots. I said is this your apology and then she continued to go on about her being a manager and me not understanding so we just left. She also seemed to be shouting at the waitresses too. It was a shame about the manager as the place is nice, the cocktails were good, waitresses were great and the DJ was...
Read moreWe have visited Coffee 2 Cocktails on two separate occasions now, of which both were on girlie night out's for post lockdown celebratory drinks and food!
Both times, we were fortunate to have been given a very warm welcome by Paula (the manager). Paula provided us with an outstanding, impeccable "A Class" service, she was very knowledgeable about the coctails menu and recommended the most favourable ones for us to try....and we were certainly blown away by them...they were cocktails to another level and not to mention the great tasting shots that she also recommended. Paula went that extra mile to offer us a great service with a smile, even under these difficult circumstances. Paula made us feel really relaxed and at ease as she catered for all our needs! We certainly made a new friend, who can join us on our next girls night out!
The food was great tasting, tantalising and tickled our taste buds. The restaurant had taken all necessary precautions to conform with government guidelines, social distancing was maintained, hand sanitisers were in place, temperature readings taken, waiters/waitresses and bar tenders all wore masks and screens to divide tables.
I would strongly recommend this place for anyone that is looking for great food, good selection of drinks, great ambience and a service...
Read moreMy second visit to Coffee 2 Cocktails. First visit for drinks on a weekday was brilliant with staff going above and beyond to really make the experience. Quality of the cocktails were also very good so decided to come back to try the food on another occasion. On the second visit the service was a little jumpy. The lady in charge was a little abrupt. Despite booking for 15 people, seating was unfortunately only arranged for 13. There was some issue with dress code which was not noted anywhere on the website. One of people in my party couldn’t come in as she had a toddler and there was a rule of no children allowed - also not mentioned. This was especially confusing as they had a kids section in the menu. Eventually they did allow for the person to come in. Anyway after we got through these hurdles, we moved on to the food. The quality of the food and presentation was high and you could see the attention to detail by the chefs on every plate that came out. Vegetarian diners also thoroughly enjoyed the meals on offer. Only thing to mention is the Fish & Chips uses Seabass which did not really suit the dish - but again if that is not an issue for you, you’d enjoy it. Portions were also very large and wholesome. Now that I know what to expect, I think my next visit would...
